Global Poker offers free-to-play poker games with no purchase necessary – but there’s a lot more to this social casino than old-school Omaha and Texas Hold‘Em games, believe me.

In this Global Poker review, I’ll explore the ins and outs of this rapidly-growing social casino, which currently boasts 250,000+ players. Right off the bat, I can already tell you I’m a huge fan of the site’s offerings – newbies get a 20 Gold Coin (GC) bonus when registering, access to poker and slots games, and entry into tournaments galore.

First-up – my Global Poker review’s thoughts on the brand’s bonus…

As I said in my introduction, I found that new players signing-up with the site can currently qualify for a Global Poker bonus. In eligible regions, this offer’s worth a total of 20 free GC or “Gold Coins” – a just-for-fun virtual currency you can use to play at the site’s poker, slots, and other table games.

You won’t need to enter any special sweepstakes casino promo codes to activate the offer, but you will need to jump through a few other hoops – including officially verifying your Global Poker account. Here’s a step-by-step guide on what to do:

Step 1

Visit the Global Poker website and scroll down to find the red “Play for Free Now” button – then click it.

Step 2

Use the pop-out registration form to create your account. You can either register via Facebook or Google, or by entering your email address and a desired password.

Step 3

Hit “Next” and enter a few more bits of information – like your name, address, and DOB.

Step 4

Here’s the bit my Global Poker review found slightly fiddly – once you’ve logged in for the first time, locate the “Account” tab in the top left-hand corner. Click the picture of a shield icon with a cross in it, then hit “Verify my Account”.

Step 5

You should now be on the verification page. Select your preferred form of ID from the drop-down box (hint: driver’s licenses and passports work best), upload a photo of it, then follow the instructions on-screen.

Step 6

Global Poker’s support staff will verify your account within 24 hours or less. Once done, that icon of a shield with a cross in it you saw on your “Account” page earlier will be replaced by a green tick – and you’ll automatically be awarded your 20 GC bonus.

It’s a relatively straightforward process to be fair, but you’d be surprised how many players overlook the necessity to have to verify themselves to claim it. Your 20 GC can be played on any Global Poker games you like, which is great – though I for one would like to have seen a slightly more generous sign-up offer, maybe with some free Sweepstakes Coins (SC) thrown in alongside the GC?

Usability – Global Poker is legit dead-simple to navigate and use

Next up, allow me to talk a bit about finding your way around the site. Now, when you first visit as an outsider, there’s a lot of information to comb through on the homepage, from bonus ads to “how-to“ guides, and it can all feel a little overwhelming. Once you’ve actually signed-up and logged-in, however, it’s a totally different story.

The designers here seem to be big fans of minimalism, having gone for a black and white, poker chip-inspired dashboard with giant, no-nonsense buttons for “Poker” and “Casino”. This of course makes it dead-easy to flick back and forth between game genres – aided by the fact you can check and uncheck filter boxes to customize the specific game types and table limits you’re looking for. This is a real neat feature, and one I personally have seldom seen at other social casinos.

You’ll see your current GC or SC balance displayed in the top-right, alongside a one-click “Get Coins” link that’ll help you quickly locate the bonus and purchase pages. In all, everything’s logically laid-out and easy-to-find – and all those how-to guides might even come in handy if you’re a poker first-timer.

App-based gaming – did my Global Poker review find any apps?

A little bit of bad news on this front, I’m afraid – there is no dedicated app available on Apple’s App Store for Global Poker right now, and it’s the same story over on Google Play.

Instead, the brand’s gone for a “mobile-friendly” website that’s optimized at the back-end to be fully compatible with devices of all shapes and sizes.

To be honest, I actually prefer this approach, simply because it offers a lot more flexibility if, like me, you enjoy gaming at home from your PC or Mac, but out and about via your smartphone. It’s also great not to have to clog-up your cell’s storage space with yet another darn app.

As I said earlier, Global Poker is legit painlessly straightforward to use once you’ve logged in and landed on the brand’s main gamer dashboard, too – and you’ll be happy to hear that all users, regardless of device, get the exact same interface to play with here. Which I think is great.

Browser-wise, I’ve found both Brave and Google Chrome seem to work best across most mainstream-brand smartphones and PCs, as well as iPhones, iPads, and Macs. If you roll with Edge, you might find that some of the brand’s more interactive table games are a little slower to load.

Payments – is Global Poker legit from a GC purchase-perspective?

Global Poker is, of course, a social casino, and that can only mean one thing – gameplay here is fueled by virtual tokens as opposed to cash. This means that any games you play will be powered by either GC, which are played purely for fun, or SC, which can be entered into sweepstakes poker tournaments and redeemed for real-world cash prizes.

As is the case with all free Sweeps Coins at sites like Stake.us, Global Poker, Chanced and others, there are tons of ways you can collect GC and SC for free, and I’ll explore the various existing customer promos on offer in a bit.

But of course, GC can also optionally be purchased outright for cash – and you’re likely to get some bonus SC thrown in with every purchase. Right now, payment options on GC purchases range from VISA, Amex and MasterCard to widely-used e-wallets like Skrill.

In short, there are tons of totally legit payment options supported here – and Global Poker imposes zero transaction fees on purchases. There’s a decent range of different GC packages themselves, too, starting from just $2.

How do SC prize redemptions work?

As I said previously, SC can be exchanged for IRL prizes – which may sometimes include cash prizes. The “Sweeps Rules” page, which you’ll find linked at the bottom of any Global Poker webpage, is your Bible on this, but allow me to summarize how it works here.

My Global Poker review found there’s a minimum prize redemption threshold in place. Basically, you’ll need to have at least 50 SC in your account before you can request a prize exchange.

Once you’ve built up a big enough SC balance, you can pick from prize options aplenty on the “Redeem” page but might have to wait anywhere from three to 10 business days for your prize to be sent to you.

Customer service – Global Poker is legit super-speedy at responding to requests

If ever you have any burning questions for Global Poker mid-game, you certainly won’t run into any trouble getting answers. As I said before, the brand offers a ton of different how-to guides, which cover topics ranging from how to play different kinds of poker games to how GC and rakeback work.

These are always a good first port of call, but if you want to speak to an actual human being about a more pressing issue, Global Poker has that base covered, too. Scroll to the bottom of any of the brand’s web pages, hit “Help Center”, and you’ll be able to submit a request to their support team, which will be answered in 24 hours or less.

Alternatively, Global Poker is legit incredibly active on social media, meaning you can chat to the team via Facebook, X and Instagram’s DM features, too. Or you can join the brand’s Discord community, where fellow gamers might be able to respond to your query faster than Global Poker can themselves.

Generally, I found X’s DM option to be the fastest and most reliable – with responses to my own questions pinged back to me within less than an hour in some cases. Ace.

Licenses – does Global Poker have any?

Global Poker is generally considered legit and safe for online poker enthusiasts. It is in fact licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA). Which is great to know, but actually, licensing isn’t really a top-priority in the social casino world – you’re playing with GC and SC here instead of hard cash, which makes Global Poker a little different than regular online casino sites, most notably in that gambling licenses aren’t actually an outright requirement.

By far a bigger concern for most gamers should of course be whether Global Poker’s actually available where you live. At the time of writing, the site is currently off-limits in the US states of Michigan, Montana, Washington or Idaho, as well as the Canadian province of Quebec, but those of you elsewhere should be good to go.

My Global Poker review found that generally, this is a social casino brand that boasts a pretty impressive rep. It’s been going since 2017, is MGA-certified, and seems to have a lot more positive reviews and testimonials from past players than negative ones. It’s also solid from an SSL encryption standpoint, and takes serious steps to verify its players, as we saw earlier.

Overall, labeling Global Poker as a scam is inaccurate based on the overall user experience and its legal operation model.

MGA - Malta Gaming Authority

Global Poker is legit great for long-term gamers – here’s why…

If your plan is to play at Global Poker for the long-haul, you certainly won’t be short of special offers, exclusive tournaments and rewards.

Unlike Stake.us poker and other competitor sites, there’s no conventional VIP program on offer with levels, loyalty points and the like here. Instead, you’ll find an impressive range of easy-access bonuses and ultra-competitive tournaments on Global Poker’s “Promotions” page – all of which are available to all players indiscriminately.

Some of my favorites offers include:

  • The Daily Bonus: which serves-up free GC/SC daily. You can locate this offer via the “Get Coins” tab in the top-right of your gamer dashboard.
  • Sunday Scrimmage: a weekly tournament held on the brand’s No Limit Hold’em game, where top-ranking players can potentially be part of a 75,000 SC prize pool.
  • Saturday Spinnage: a slots-based promotion run on Fruit Smash, with a potential 10,900 GC prize pool. Note: you’ll need to enrol yourself in Sunday Scrimmage first to be in with a chance of entering this one.
  • Weekly promotions: which are a little more… mysterious. Sometimes they’re free GC/SC top-ups, on other occasions they might be poker-based tournaments with huge prize pools. Who knows? They change weekly, of course.
  • GC purchase bonuses: the easiest way to acquire more GC is to buy some – and you’ll get a few free SC thrown in as a bonus every time you do.

What kinds of games are up-for-grabs?

As any good gamer-come-writer should, when putting together this Global Poker review, I carefully examined the brand’s game portfolio in full. And here’s what I found.

The brand offers four different primary poker games, which include must-have classics like Omaha and Texas Hold’em, as well as slightly more niche, faster-paced tables like the wonderfully-named Crazy Pineapple.

On top of that, there are more than 50 different slots games to choose from – which really wowed me to be honest, seeing as the site promotes itself predominantly as a free-play poker brand.

Limits are varied from table to table and slot to slot, with special low play limits introduced frequently as part of exclusive tournaments and promotions, like the Sunday Scrimmage and Saturday Spinnage offers I mentioned earlier. Tournaments are where the site really comes into its own to be honest – they’re shaken-up weekly and frequently advertise GC and SC prize pools of six, or even seven, figures.

A few need-to-knows about GC and SC

Of course, any Global Poker games you fire-up on your phone, tablet or computer will need to be played using either GC or SC. You’ll get 20 GC with the brand’s welcome bonus, but these can only be played for fun – and should be thought of as a sort of practice coin.

The real deal here is SC, which you can unlock fastest and most easily by either claiming the Daily Bonus I talked about already, or by optionally purchasing a GC coin package – which my Global Poker review found will always entitle you to a free SC bonus.

The bonuses I mentioned earlier aren’t your only options for unlocking free SC though, which is great because it means it’s in no way easy to run out of Coins here. You can also claim some free Coins by sending a “Postal Request Code” to Global Poker’s US address, for example. You’ll find this code via the “Get Coins” tab, which is also a great place to scout out other weekly bonuses, giveaways, and fast-paced tournaments with huge SC prize pools.

Product summary – is Global Poker any good?

The short answer is, for me at least, a resounding yes. Global Poker is fantastic for poker nuts who value great bonuses and high-octane tournaments, but equally good fun if you’re just looking for an easy-to-use platform to play slots and other kinds of table games at.

Just remember that players in some  regions – including Idaho, Michigan, Montana and Washington in the US and Quebec in Canada – can’t currently play here.

Global Poker review FAQ

🃏 Does Global Poker only have poker games?

No, far from it. You’ll find classic slots like Western Gold and Super Hot 777 here, as well as a fair few non-poker table game options. See how Global Poker compares to other social casinos with my latest guides.

🔎 How do I get free SC at Global Poker?

While Global Poker’s latest sign-up bonus is good for a few free GC, you’ll have to look at other promotions on the site to unlock free SC. The brand’s Daily Bonus, frequent social media giveaways and weekly offers are all appropriate options here. You can also get a free SC bonus by purchasing a GC coins package.

🔞 How old do I need to be to play at Global Poker?

The brand itself sets a minimum age limit of 18, but you should of course read-up on local laws regarding social casino gaming in your state before registering. Don’t forget that gamers based in the US states of Idaho, Michigan, Montana, and Washington can’t currently play here. The same goes for any Canadians based in Quebec.

Conclusion – Global Poker is legit, fun and packed full of amazing tournament options

There’s more to Global Poker than meets the eye. Of course, this is an incredible place to enjoy several different varieties of virtual coin-powered poker games, as well as Omaha and Texas Hold’em tournaments galore, but there’s a lot more to it than that.

Global Poker offers a well-balanced game portfolio that doesn’t neglect slots and other kinds of tables, some impressive bonuses and rewards, and a no-nonsense user interface that’s as ideal for smartphone gamers as it is old school poker nuts like me who prefer to play via PC.

It’s a shame the brand’s welcome bonus doesn’t offer-up any free SC and that live chat is only available via X, FB and the like, but in all, this is an awesome social casino – and you don’t have to be the world’s biggest poker fan to fully enjoy it.
