Elder Jinchi is one of the secret bosses players can fight in Black Myth: Wukong, but finding him and triggering his fight is easier said than done.
Black Myth: Wukong is one of the most popular games of 2024, reaching over 2 million concurrent players on Steam days after its release. The game takes players through lands inspired by Chinese mythology, with each main area divided into chapters. As expected from a game compared to Elden Ring, Black Myth: Wukong has multiple secret bosses to tackle.
The game’s first area has a secret boss called Elder Jinchi. Players must ring multiple bells to reach the hidden area that houses the difficult opponent. While defeating him can get tough, especially for beginners, he drops an invaluable item for players up to the task.
How to find and fight Elder Jinchi in Black Myth: Wukong
Players must ring three bells scattered throughout the Black Wind Mountain region to find Elder Jinchi in Black Myth: Wukong.
There isn’t any order for these bells, so players can ring whichever ones they want to. The game will teleport the player to the secret area once they ring every bell. For those struggling to find each of these bells, here’s a breakdown of where they are.
Forest of Wolves – Outside the Forest bell
The first step for starting the fight with Elder Jinchi is to follow the road from the Outside the Forest shrine and take the first left. Then, go right from the next diversion and cross the rope bridge. Follow the road and head left to enter a boss area. Over here, players will fight against Guangzhi, who will drop the Red Tides Transformation Spell. Ring the bell that’s on the other side of the arena.
Bamboo Grove – Snake Trail bell
Climb the stairs and go onto the rope bridge. Players can follow the path and go down or jump from the right side of the bridge they’re on. At the bamboo area, go through the small opening on the right side of the location. This opening will lead to a boss arena where The Destined One will fight Guangmou. After defeating Guangmou, go up a small set of stairs next to the arena and ring the second bell.
Bamboo Grove – Marsh of the White Mists bell
Just follow the path from the Marsh of the White Mists shrine and go to the lake. Defeat the Whiteclad Noble and go left through a small opening. Follow the path and ring the bell at the end. This is the final step for finding Elder Jinchi; now players can turn their attention toward hitting his giant chin.
How to beat Elder Jinchi in Black Myth: Wukong
Elder Jinchi is a fairly straightforward boss fight, although his area of effect moves are dangerous.
Elder Jinchi’s moveset is similar to Wandering Wights. The only difference is that the secret boss has two special moves that players must be careful of.
The first special move has Elder Jinchi floating in the air and summoning numerous figures towards him. These figures will heal Elder Jinchi when they get close enough, so players have to kill them before they reach the boss. After some time, he will get back down, allowing players to attack him.
The second special move has Elder Jinchi summoning those previous figures again. The difference here is that these explode when they touch the player. When the boss summons these figures, it’s essential to start running to avoid them. Once these figures disappear or explode, it’s time to attack Elder Jinchi.
Once the player defeats Elder Jinchi, the game will teleport the player to the bell in the Marsh of the White Mist. Interact with the Wolf Guai hanging from the tree to get the Fireproof Mantle Vessel and 2,000 Will, Black Myth: Wukong’s currency.
