Here’s how to reroll in Genshin Impact, but is it worth it?

For players that find themselves stuck with a bunch of unlucky pulls, rerolling in Genshin Impact might be worth a shot, but don’t think it will be easy.

When starting out, players are given greater access to premium currencies or pulls to help them get started. If they’re not lucky enough to get 5-star characters or their favorites, they can simply toss their progress and try again on a fresh account. This process in gacha games is called rerolling, and many players have fully embraced it.

Genshin Impact players aren’t any different. By rerolling, they can potentially secure stronger characters, get a solid headstart, and finish the early-game content with ease. Here’s how players can go about it.

How to reroll in Genshin Impact

Rerolling in Genshin Impact requires a newly created account, plenty of free time, and better luck. Hopefully.

Like fellow HoYoverse titles Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, Genshin Impact does not offer a guest account option. This means if their rolls don’t work out, players are left with no choice but to create new accounts using alternate email addresses. From there, they have to run through the entire tutorial and repeat the process until they land the pulls they want.

On a fresh account, players should progress through the Prologue. Getting access to Wishes, the game’s gacha system, opens up after reaching Adventurer Rank 5 and entering the Knights of Favonius.

Genshin Impact 5 Star Pull
You can’t count on a five-star pull, even after multiple rerolls.

Players should be able to collect all Primogems, Intertwined Fates, and Acquiant Fates they can get before doing their initial pulls. Be sure to check the Adventurer Rank Rewards, Mail, Events, Test Runs, Achievements, and more. Everyone can expect to accumulate around 30 pulls this way.

Going through this process can be demoralizing and somewhat boring. A reroll in Genshin Impact ends up taking about 30 to 60 minutes to complete. Whether it’s worth the effort is up to the players.

Once they’re done, they can decide whether to stick with their current account or switch to another one. If they choose the latter, just repeat the process.

Is it worth rerolling in Genshin Impact?

For players who don’t mind wasting hours or even days, rerolling in Genshin Impact can be worth it.

Using five-star units early on makes taking down Hilichurls and Abyss Mages a piece of cake. Besides, being able to use characters that have the extra bells and whistles of a rare pull can actually make the early grind more enjoyable.

But the main drawback to rerolling in Genshin Impact is that it is time-consuming. Going through lengthy dialogue and unskippable cutscenes makes the process tedious overall. Not to mention, creating lots of email addresses is a real hassle. As if that weren’t enough, the probability of getting an early five-star character is painfully low, at only 0.6% per pull. Even with 30 free pulls, the odds are still heavily stacked against success.

There really isn’t any guarantee that players will see better results on their next accounts. Unless players truly attach no value to their time, they’re just better off paying up for rolls or moving on to something else.
