Honkai Star Rail: How to link PS5 account and keep cross-progress

honkai star rail

Honkai Star Rail is available on several devices, including PS5, and thankfully, accounts are cross-compatible.

miHoyo has more gacha anime action games in its library than it knows what to do with, and it arguably all began with the Honkai franchise. Honkai Impact 3rd was arguably the game that put miHoyo on the map before Genshin Impact’s explosive popularity took it to mainstream success.

Still, the studio never forgot its roots. Honkai Impact 3rd’s sequel, Honkai Star Rail, brings the player back to the sci-fi world, this time on consoles too. Honkai Star Rail quickly surpassed over a million players on PS5, and the number only grows daily. However, some fans may wonder if their accounts on PC and mobile are compatible with the PS5.

Upon first logging into Honkai Star Rail on PS5, select “Already have an account? Log in directly” to link your account.

Fortunately for fans, account linking is not a complicated process. Hoyoverse account details are compatible across all platforms as long as the player remembers their credentials.

To ensure that the link can actually be made, players will have to do some steps on the official HoYoverse website. Users must log in with their credentials on the official site and access their account settings.

From there, they can go to Settings, then Account, then User Center to check if their email is linked to the account. Once that’s confirmed, return to the PS5 Honkai Star Rail login screen select “Already have an account? Log in directly” and type in the necessary credentials. From there, players can play Honkai Star Rail with every character they have from their PC or mobile accounts.

How do I get Honkai Star Rail cross-progress on mobile and PC when I started playing on PS5?

Players who started playing HoYoverse games including Honkai Star Rail can access cross-progress by linking their PlayStation Network account to a HoYoverse account.

The PlayStation 5 version of Honkai Star Rail can be played without being attached to a HoYoverse account. In order to enjoy cross-progress starting with the PS5 version, players need to do the following:

  • Create a HoYoverse account, if you don’t already have one
  • Open Honkai Star Rail on PS5
  • Press the options button
  • Open settings menu
  • Navigate to Account Settings tab
  • Select User Center
  • Select Link Account
  • Click “Link” and enter sign-in information for HoYoverse account

Linking Honkai Star Rail on PS5 to a HoYoverse account must be done in-game.

After doing this, if players sign into Honkai Star Rail on mobile or PC using the linked HoYoverse account, they will enjoy the same progress they’ve made on the PS5 version of the game. They’ll also be able to make microtransactions on the official website, which sometimes offer better rates than making the purchases through digital storefronts.

How to recover my account details for Honkai Star Rail on PS5

On the official Hoyoverse website, users can select “Having Problems?” and “Forgot Password” to reset account details.

From there, players just need to input their associated username or email and proceed through security verification. Once the new password is set, players can link their accounts across all available systems.

It’s worth noting that new Honkai Star Rail players can automatically link their Hoyoverse account if they already have credentials from another Hoyoverse game, such as Genshin Impact.
