Kengan Ashura Season 2 Part 2 fights, release date details

kengan ashura

The Kengan Ashura saga is almost over and it won’t be long until the release date of Season 2 Part 2.

The anime Kengan Ashura follows the story of young martial artist Tokita Ohma as he fights in ruthless underground matches known as Kengan battles. These battles are part of the Kengan Annihilation Tournament, where powerful corporations settle disputes through hired fighters. Since landing on Netflix, the anime has captivated audiences with its thrilling fights and unique, over-the-top action.

The second part of the second season will feature the finals of the Kengan Annihilation Tournament and the conclusion of the story as fans know it. Fortunately, Netflix has revealed the release window of the final season right after the previous season ended.

Kengan Ashura Season 2 Part 2 release date info

Kengan Ashura Season 2 Part 2 will come out at some point in 2024, according to Netflix.

The last part dropped in September 2023 with the small Coup d’Etat Arc. In this arc, the CEO of Toyo Electric Power Company, Hayami Katsumasa, organized an unsuccessful mutiny to take over the Kengan Tournament and form a new Kengan association.

Kengan Ashura Season 2 Part 2 will include the Ohma Resurgence mini-arc alongside the quarterfinal and semifinal matches, followed by the tournament finals. This means that fans can expect some of the most entertaining and violent fights between the strongest surviving fighters of the entire series in this final season.

Unfortunately, there is no exact release date for Kengan Ashura Season 2 Part 2, so fans of both Kengan and Baki will just have to be patient. This ultimately still gives fighting anime fans something to look forward to, as the fate of Baki Hanma remains unclear.

What fights will happen in Kengan Ashura Season 2 Part 2?

Kengan Ashura Season 2 Part 2 will bring the Kengan Annihilation Tournament to a close, with the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals made up of seven fights.

The confirmed quarterfinals matches include:

  • Ohma Tokita vs. Cosmo Imai
  • Takeshi Wakatsuki vs. Muteba Gizenga
  • Kanoh Agito vs. Sen Hatsumi
  • Rei Mikazuchi vs. Kuroki Gensai

Among the ones to look out for are the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu master Cosmo Imai, the silent master of Chinese assassination acupuncture Muteba Gizenga, Lightning Spirit style master Rei Mikazuchi, not to mention Ohma himself and his signature Niko style. The winners of the first two matches will face off for a spot in the finals, with the winners of the third and fourth doing the same.

This upcoming season will feature some of the most exciting fights in the entire world of martial arts anime that’s on par with iconic fighting anime like Baki, on top of giving a beautiful conclusion to the thrilling adventure of the brilliant fighter Tokita Ohma.

How far into the manga does Kengan Ashura Season 2 go?

Kengan Ashura Season 2 Part 1 covers the events of the manga through chapter 181.

The Kengan Ashura anime currently has two seasons, with each season consisting of 24 episodes. The first season wrapped in 2019 and adapted the manga story through chapter 73. The first 12 episodes of the second season aired in September and continued telling the story through chapters 180 or 181.

As one might expect with that comparatively brisk pace, the Kengan Ashura anime skips a lot of content shown in the manga. This means that fans who watched the Larx Entertainment and Studio Hibari adaptation can get something new out of re-reading what they’ve already seen in the anime.
