A major GTA 6 leak on TikTok shows the game in action

The Grand Theft Auto 6 reveal trailer is just days away from being revealed but an apparent leak on TikTok gave fans a taste of what’s to come.

GTA 6 is one of the most-hyped games in years to the point where fans have been desperately seeking any sort of news. There wasn’t any tangible proof of the game’s existence until a massive leak saw an early build of the game posted online. Rockstar acknowledged that the leak was real and that the game was in development, but also that it wouldn’t officially reveal it until the right time.

Fast forward to December 2023 and GTA 6 is finally ready to be revealed. However, it seems that even this reveal was too long a wait for some people, and this has led to another massive leak. A sneak peek of the GTA 6 trailer was found on TikTok, and it came from a surprising source.

What were the Grand Theft Auto 6 TikTok leaks?

The GTA 6 TikTok leaks revealed the game’s new map and broke down some of its areas.

GTA 5’s Los Santos was already the biggest map that Rockstar Games has created to date, easily triple the size of those seen in GTA: Vice City. Given Rockstar’s dedication to making each release even bigger than the last, it’s no surprise that the GTA 6 is massive. The GTA 6 map is reportedly twice as large as the map of GTA 5, but it doesn’t just take place in one city.

The game will supposedly contain 3 major cities, 4 sub-cities, and a large lake in the middle of the map. The leaker identifies the map as being “Miami-based.”

This lines up with previous leaks that suggested that realistic water graphics and physics were featured in RAGE 9, the game engine used for creating GTA 6. Though previous GTA games have had boats, a large lake that serves as a terminus between major areas of the map would incentivize Rockstar to give extra care to how water looks and feels in the game. This also follows hints from Rockstar that the game might take place in or around Vice City.

Are the GTA 6 TikTok leaks legit?

The TikTok leaks of the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer seem to be legitimate and apparently came from a family member of a prominent figure in Rockstar Games.

The leak came from a TikTok user with the handle “azzarossi” who has posted photos of themselves with a high-ranking figure in Rockstar, identifying them as a relative. So yes, this is essentially an extreme version of the “my uncle works at Nintendo” story.

On top of this, different areas of the map seem to sync up with locales found in the leaked build of Grand Theft Auto 6. Fans have identified specific landmarks in the GTA 6 TikTok video and triangulated their locations with the early build of the game, with everything seemingly lining up. If this leak isn’t legitimate, someone has seemingly been working on this for years and done extremely meticulous work creating a forgery.

The video has been taken down and reposts have been copyright striked. The azzarossi account has been deleted.

Regardless, fans are just a few days away from seeing the real thing in action.
