Anime fans and fighting game players alike have been hype about the release of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. Even before the game came out there was already talk about the upcoming DLC and what’s being added down the line.
Sparking Zero’s early access days have created an immense amount of hype around the fighting game. The chance to play as more than 180 DBSZ characters from the Dragon Ball universe is part of the appeal. But that’s apparently just scratching the surface — more characters are coming in various waves of DLC updates.

All Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero DLC characters, release dates
Bandai Namco has confirmed three DLC packs that include playable characters from throughout Dragon Ball’s massive universe.
In a show of just how many characters are part of Dragon Ball’s IP, developers are already planning three waves of new DLC fighters on top of the 181 in the original roster. These characters will come from the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie and Dragon Ball Daima.
DLC 1: Q1 2025
This first round of DLC will feature playable characters from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, a movie that was released in 2022 with high praise. The exact characters have not been released but some possible additions are the villain Cell Max, the evil scientist Dr. Hedo, and Gohan’s daughter Pan. The one most fans want is Beast Gohan.
DLC 2: Q1 2025
This second wave of DLC is also coming in the first quarter of next year. This will bring characters from Dragon Ball Daima, which features new characters like Glorio, Masked Majin, and Gomah. Daima also has Mini Goku and Mini Supreme Kai, two iconic characters who have been turned small.
DLC 3: Q2 2025
DLC 3 will come out in the second quarter of 2025, bringing even more characters from Daima to the fore. This anime series came out in 2024 in Japan, so it’s no surprise the game would want to highlight this new media
What is the Season Pass Bonus in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero?
The Season Pass Bonus for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero costs $34.99 on the Xbox Store, and purchasing this pass lets you summon Shenron, which can be used for cosmetic items. The Season Pass Bonus also grants early access to the previous three DLC packs. Fans can use these characters three days early if they buy the Season Pass Bonus.
An announcement about the Season Pass shows that the DLC will have over 20 playable characters from Super Hero and Daima. This puts the roster at easily over 200 characters.
