Star Wars revels in its past and for fans who want to see familiar faces, Outlaws has quite a few characters from the movies who make a cameo appearance.
The hype for Star Wars has slightly faded in recent years, but it remains an iconic franchise. Regardless of the discourse, Star Wars has proven to be a stage for strong original stories, as the likes of Andor can attest to. With the release of Star Wars Outlaws, Ubisoft hopes to build upon that legacy.
To keep the game synergized with the rest of Star Wars lore, it has the expected cameos that every Star Wars media features. From Sith lords to bounty hunters, here are the iconic film characters who appear in Star Wars Outlaws.
Which Star Wars characters have a cameo appearance in Star Wars Outlaws?
Star Wars Outlaws features an appearance from Darth Vader, as well as various characters from the franchise’s underbelly.
Star Wars video games often see players walk the path of the Jedi, but that’s not the case here. Star Wars Outlaws puts the spotlight on the seedier side of the franchise and flashes characters from the movies who showed that side of the universe.
Qi’ra
The crime lord of Corellia, Qi’ra debuted in the film Solo, a prequel following a young Han Solo’s exploits. Qi’ra was last seen in the movie contacting Darth Maul, with the implication that she was to become his next apprentice.
Lady Qi’ra plays a significant cameo role in Kay Vess’s story as the smuggler’s contact with the Crimson Dawn. Though she only appears a few times, Vess’s association with Qi’ra brings the playable smuggler notoriety across the galaxy.
Lando Calrissian
Lando Calrissian appears as a contact and quest giver for Kay Vess. Players can find Lando at the high roller’s table on Akiva. They must first complete the High-Stakes Showdown side quest, after which they can finally meet Lando.
He gives Kay a mission to retrieve an item he lost at an intense Sabacc game with the Crimson Dawn. The suave rogue asks Kay to join the Sabacc table on Kijimi for a hefty reward.
Boba Fett
Unlike Lando, Boba Fett doesn’t exist as an NPC in the game. Instead, he’s a blink-and-miss cameo during a rescue mission. After Kay loses Nix in a game of Sabacc, she infiltrates the captor’s hideout by crawling through the vents.
In one of the rooms, Boba Fett can be seen talking to Bib Fortuna via hologram. It’s very easy to miss, as the game doesn’t draw attention to his presence. He doesn’t have a larger role in the story other than this cameo, but that could change with DLC.
Jabba the Hutt
As the most extensive cameo in the game, Jabba the Hutt plays a significant role in the story of Star Wars Outlaws, a bit more than a cameo. Unfortunately, the bulk of his appearances are locked behind a season pass, which disappointed many Star Wars fans eager to explore his palace.
Jabba’s Favor is the main questline for the crime lord in the base game. However, those with the Season Pass gain access to the Jabba’s Gambit DLC mission for a bit more story and adventure. Fans who got the standard edition will still see plenty of him as they play the game, however, as he appears as the poster boy for the Hutt Cartel faction in the game’s menus.
Darth Vader
Darth Vader only appears twice in Star Wars Outlaws, but both are crucial moments in the game’s story. The first scene has Darth Vader meeting directly with the game’s antagonist, Sliro, the Imperial Security Bureau director. As expected, Vader shows off his force powers by shattering the glass cases around Sliro and threatening to shower him with shards.
The second moment features Darth Vader dealing with Sliro’s failures through a hologram call. Although his role is small in the story, he may have more appearances in future DLC.
