Nintendo is releasing Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete and has confirmed how save transfers will work, and what players can and can’t keep in the move.
Animal Crossing Pocket Camp debuted in October 2017 to critical and casual acclaim. Nintendo has a fantastic track record for Animal Crossing games on the go, and Pocket Camp took the wholesome social experience to mobile phones. Instead of a town, players managed a camp this time around.
Surprisingly, Animal Crossing Pocket Camp had quite the longevity. In November 2024, the game celebrated its 7th anniversary, meaning Pocket Camp players had impressive campsites built over years. When Nintendo announced Pocket Camp Complete in October 2024, fans worried all that progress would go away.
Thankfully, Nintendo offered longtime fans a solution.
How to transfer save data to Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete
Players can transfer their Animal Crossing Pocket Camp progress and save data via their Nintendo account.
Make sure you have access to your existing Nintendo account to ensure a smooth transition. If you don’t have one yet, you can do so via the official Nintendo website. Once those Nintendo credentials are ready, follow these steps to store Animal Crossing Pocket Camp save data on a Nintendo account:
- Open Animal Crossing Pocket Camp (NOT ANIMAL CROSSING POCKET CAMP COMPLETE)
- Go to Settings
- Scroll down to the Nintendo Account section
- Register the chosen Nintendo account to link it to Animal Crossing Pocket Camp
- Open the Menu again and Tap Misc.
- Tap Changing Devices
- Select Store Save Data
- Log in with the linked Nintendo account
- Tap “Let’s do it” to Confirm the transfer
Once that’s done, players can finally transfer their account progress to the new game via these steps:
- Install Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete and launch it
- Tap Continue when prompted to continue from transferred save data
- Log in with the linked Nintendo account
- Tap Transfer
- Wait for the download to finish
- Tap OK
Just like that, much of the progress has now transferred over to Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete. Players can only transfer save data from Animal Crossing Pocket Camp until June 1, 2025, so make sure to do so before that date.
While much of the player’s progress will make the jump, not every little detail made it into the new campsite.
What do I keep after the Animal Crossing Pocket Camp account transfer?
Players will keep all of their progress except for Leaf Tickets and Pocket Camp Club content with the transfer to Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete. Leaf Tickets will be replaced with Leaf Tokens in the newest iteration of Pocket Camp. Meanwhile, Pocket Camp Club content will now be part of the game proper, instead of being available separately. Also, since the new version is offline-only, players won’t have any online benefits.
Everything else, from player level to all those animal friends, thankfully hitch along for the ride. With a plethora of new features and a rejuvenated road map of content, Animal Crossing Pocket Camp players have many years of camp life to look forward to.
Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete launches on December 3, 2024.
