Arcane Season 2 revealed the father of League of Legends champion Orianna. Surprisingly, it’s someone fans have theorized for a while.
Although League of Legends is undeniably popular for its gameplay, fans have always loved its lore. The world of Runeterra is vast and surprisingly complex, and Riot has touched upon those aspects through champion backstories.
Arcane Season 2 expanded the world of Runeterra significantly. The show tackles so much, from the in-depth narrative of the Piltover-Zaun war to a glimpse of the mysterious Black Rose faction. Still, the lore that draws longtime fans is anything that has to do with existing champions. Among the most mysterious is Orianna, the clockwork maiden from the depths of Zaun, who makes her Arcane debut in Season 2, Episode 5
Does Orianna appear in Arcane Season 2?
Orianna appears in human form in Arcane Season 2, Episode 5.
The comatose young girl was not directly named, but her appearance was unmistakable. Plus, her backstory lines up perfectly with Orianna Reveck; a young girl who fell mysteriously ill and was kept alive by strange magics.
However, Orianna remains firmly flesh and bone as of the fifth episode. Fans theorize that when Viktor returns as his “final” evolution, he will turn Orianna into a person composed entirely of hextech. As for why Viktor would do such a thing, it would be thanks to his connection to Orianna’s father.
Who is Orianna’s father in League of Legends?
Singed is revealed to be Corin Reveck, the father of Orianna, in Arcane Season 2, Episode 5.
Caitlyn outright calls Singed “Doctor Reveck,” which the latter does not deny. He then reveals his reason for all his crimes; to find a way to cure his daughter, Orianna. Warwick was simply a means to an end for Singed to keep his daughter alive.
In a captivating conversation, Singed and Viktor discuss the nature of hextech, and how far each is willing to go for their goals. As a former pupil, Viktor may help Singed turn his daughter into a fully Hextech being. Viktor was able to cure illnesses by integrating hextech into human beings, making it the most likely origin for Orianna in Arcane.
Whether that will be relevant in Season 2, or a new show altogether, remains to be seen.
