With new evolutions galore coming with Eevee Grove, we’re ranking the best and worst of all of the Eevee cards now available for competitive deck-building in Pokemon TCG Pocket.
Eevee is one of the best-known cards in Pokemon at large and one of the most repeated Pokemon additions in Pokemon TCG Pocket. As a basic card with evolutions across multiple types, it can fit into any deck and only has to evolve once. TCG Pocket’s newest booster, Eevee Grove, puts Eevee, Sylveon, and its other evolutions front and center.
Not all Eevee cards are created equal, however, and some are far better than others when it comes to actual ranked and competitive play. Here are the best Eevee cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket so far, ranked by usefulness in play.
Eevee cards for your deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket
Although they are all unique, most Eevee cards have some similarities to be considered when building out a new Pokemon TCG Pocket deck. With the exception of the new Eevee ex, each has 60 HP. Most of them deal between 0 and 20 damage, though two rely on coin flips to deal extra damage. But for all of their similarities, there are also major differences between them that must be considered.
7. Promo Eevee
Promo cards are rare in that once the associated challenge or event is over, the card is gone for good and can no longer be acquired. PROMO-A Eevee came from a Blastoise drop event, with other cards including a full art Blastoise.
This Eevee deals no damage. Instead, its Growl growl reduces the damage from the defending Pokemon’s next attack by 20. This can work well in the early game while the player is countering low-damage opponents and building up energy. However, if this Eevee comes up late in the deck, it becomes essentially useless.

6. Eevee Grove Eevee
Like the promo Eevee card, Eevee Grove’s Eevee is a highly situational card. Rather than dealing damage, its move Collect lets players draw an additional card. It can be good to dig for Stage 1 and Stage 2 Pokemon in your deck, but it doesn’t work well as a buffer because of its low HP.
There are two versions of the Eevee Grove Eevee: one regular card and one full art card. While collectors will want to grab the full art, it’s less useful than other cards on the list and especially the other Eevee cards from this new set.

5. Triumphant Light Eevee
The Eevee from Triumphant Light deals the most reliable damage of a non-ex Eevee card, but the cost fails to justify the move. With Tail Whap, Eevee does 30 damage to the opposing Pokemon. Unlike other cards, though, it takes two energy for its attack. Unless Triumphant Light Eevee is the first active Pokemon, it’s unlikely to get a return on cost compared to other Eevee cards.

4. Space-Time Smackdown Eevee
Space-Time Smackdown Eevee is one of two cards currently that requires a coin flip. Its move, Quick Attack, automatically deals 10 damage for one energy. The player then flips a coin and, if heads, dishes out an additional 20 damage.
This averages out to to 20 damage, but the amount fluctuates based on the coin flip results. For the energy cost, many find it better to go with more reliable damage.

3. Genetic Apex Eevee
In the first booster set Genetic Apex, players have the chance to pull one of four Eevee card designs. Each has 60 HP and inflicts a clean 20 damage for one energy of any type.
Of the non-ex Eevee cards, this version deals the most damage on average proportionate to the energy cost, allowing for decent early-game hits. Plus, players can use the full art card to add some color to their deck.

2. Mythical Island Eevee
The Eevee from Mythical Island is the highest risk, highest reward card in this list. Its move, Continuous Steps, allows the player to flip a coin and deal 20 damage for every heads. The move ends when tails comes up. Though it could lead to a wasted move, Mythical Island Eevee has the potential to take down other basic cards or put a dent into higher HP ones if the player gets especially lucky.

1. Eevee Grove Eevee ex
Eevee ex is by far the best Eevee card, and it’s also the rarest.
For one, Eevee ex has an ability that lets it evolve. Players can compare this to Pikachu ex, who cannot evolve into Raichu or Raichu ex. It also has 90 HP, letting it take a significant hit before falling, and the Bite attack costs only one energy while dealing 30 damage. For those who want to use Eevee as a featured Pokemon in their deck, this is the card for them.

Best Eevee evolution cards for competitive play
After the release of Eevee Grove, the best cards for Eevee to evolve to are Sylveon ex and Mythical Island’s Vaporeon.
Pokemon TCG Pocket has three versions of Vaporeon so far from different boosters, but the card from Mythical Island stands out. The main benefit is its ability: it can move energy from the benched Pokemon to the active one as often as it would like. When paired with Misty and a heavy hitter, there’s a high chance to do major damage in any given turn.
Sylveon ex debuted with Eevee Grove and stands out as one of the best cards to evolve Eevee with for two reasons. First, it deals 70 damage for only two energy, making it easy to knock out opponents for low cost. It additionally has an ability that lets the player pull two cards when they put Sylveon ex into play.
With eight evolutions and seven Eevee cards to choose from, there’s a best Eeeve for every competitive situation. Interested players will just have to hope that they can pull that evolving Eevee ex quickly.
