PC gamers won’t quite need their own mech to run Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, but the system requirements are not light.
FromSoftware is known for turning out big-name, critically acclaimed games at a breakneck pace. 18 months removed from Elden Ring propelling the studio to new heights, another blockbuster game is slated to release in Armored Core 6. The title resurrects the Armored Core franchise that FromSoftware was largely known for before the breakout success of Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls.
Armored Core 6 is slated to release on all modern gaming platforms, except for the Nintendo Switch. PC gamers won’t get left out of the action either, but not everyone will have a PC that’s up to the task. Thankfully, FromSoftware has finally revealed the recommended and minimum system requirements for Armored Core 6 so players can make some firm decisions about which console they’re playing on.

This might be frustrating for some, but one look at Armored Core 6’s gameplay will explain why it has these demands.
Armored Core 6 will feature fast-paced gameplay with frenetic combat. Those looking to enjoy multiplayer will likely want to opt for the recommended specs. An Armored Core 6 leak likely revealed what PvP looks like. The action moves quickly enough that hesitation, whether it’s from the player or their PC, will lead to defeat.
Will Armored Core 6 run on Steam Deck?
Armored Core 6 will be fully playable on Steam Deck, according to its developers.
Though its page on Steam does not officially divulge its Steam Deck compatibility status, FromSoftware is aware of the portable PC’s popularity. The studio held a closed-door event with media and influencers, that had multiple developers on hand to answer questions. A number of individuals and outlets asked about Armored Core 6’s Steam Deck compatibility.

Elden Ring is widely regarded as one of the best games to play on Steam Deck and was something of a killer app in the hardware’s early days. That wasn’t lost on FromSoftware.
Armored Core 6 developers stated that the game will be fully supported on Steam Deck. For those who want the PC version for its modding potential but don’t want to upgrade their hardware, this could be a great option.
