The release date and banners have been revealed for Genshin Impact 4.8 and players are getting a picture of what the new hero Emilie brings to the table.
The Fontaine cycle is wrapping up and the fiery nation of Natlan is about to open its gates. Before that happens, players will have to wait a bit longer and enjoy a summer-themed patch. More importantly, Genshin Impact 4.8 is bringing a new Fontaine unit to the roster and some fan favorites back into the mix.
With four characters lined up for the upcoming banner, there’s a lot to spend those Primogems on. Fans are on the edge of their seats, eagerly waiting to find out when all these exciting updates are going to drop.
Genshin Impact 4.8 release date confirmed
Genshin Impact Patch 4.8 is targeted for release on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
The patch is split into two phases. The first phase runs from July 17 to August 6, and the latter from August 6 to August 27. Along with the new banners, players can explore the limited-time map Simulanka for the whole patch, plus other new events.
All Genshin Impact 4.8 Phase 1 and Phase 2 banners
In the first phase of Genshin Impact 4.8, players can look forward to reruns for Navia and Nilou. It’s not often that the first phase of a patch only has rerun banners, but that will be the case here.
Nilou’s character banner is finally making a comeback. Her fans have been waiting an entire year for her rerun, which will finally arrive here. Hailing from Sumeru, Nilou is a five-star Hydro sword unit that shines with the Bloom reaction.
Meanwhile, Navia is about to have her first rerun. Navia is a Fontainian character famous for her quick-swap playstyle and big damage potential. As part of the first phase, Nilou and Navia’s signature weapons, Key Of Khaj-Nisut and Verdict, will be available in the weapon banner.
On the flip side, Genshin Impact 4.8 will bring a new Dendro character, Emilie, alongside Yelan’s banner. Much like the first set of banners, the second phase also offers the signature weapon for both units. This includes Lumidouce Elegy for Emilie and Aqua Simulacra for Yelan.
Fans got their first look at the new Dendro character, Emilie, during the drip marketing released on June 3, 2024. She was confirmed to be a new addition to the Dendro characters, taking on the role of a sub-DPS unit that heavily relies on the Burning reaction.
Alongside her banner is Yelan, one of the most versatile damage dealers in the game. With her Hydro vision and bow, Yelan provides off-field Hydro applications that can trigger powerful reactions in the game. Players can expect to collect a bunch of Primogems, which they can use in the current or upcoming banners after Genshin Impact patch 4.8’s release date.
