Omni-Man and Tremor will be Mortal Kombat 1’s first DLC characters and their gameplay reveal trailer has dropped.
The Mortal Kombat franchise is known for pulling out all the stops regarding guest characters. Ever since the appearance of Kratos and Freddy Krueger in Mortal Kombat in 2009, NetherRealm Studios has made it its mission to acquire some of the biggest names in pop culture. The latest installment in the series is no different.
Mortal Kombat 1 is set to add Homelander, Quan Chi, Ermac, Peacemaker, Takeda, and Omni-Man as playable characters in the Kombat Pack DLC. As it turns out, the first of these guests to come to the game is none other than the Viltrumite himself, Omni-Man. Now, fans can take a look at the character in action.
When is Omni-Man coming out in Mortal Kombat 1?
Omni-Man and Tremor are set for a Mortal Kombat 1 release in November 2023.
An exact day release date has not been confirmed. Owners of Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition or Kombat Pack will have early access to Omni-Man.
Omni-Man’s gameplay is the first peek at how Injustice-style “Superman” characters would work in the comparatively squishy world of Mortal Kombat. As the brutal fatalities teased in the trailer suggest, Omni-Man fits like a glove into Mortal Kombat’s gore-filled world.
All of his moves are also references to iconic scenes from the Invincible comic and show, showcasing NetherRealm’s dedication to its guest characters. Interestingly, the earth-bending ninja Tremor also showed up in the trailer as a Kameo fighter and is said to be coming out alongside Omni-Man in November 2023.
What are the release dates for the Kombat Pack DLC characters?
Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack characters will be released throughout Winter 2023 to Summer 2024.
NetherRealm Studios shared Mortal Kombat Pack 1 release dates with several media outlets, detailing the schedule from Winter 2023 to Summer 2024. The next fighters coming after Omni-Man will be Quan Chi and Peacemaker. Fans can look forward to Homelander and Takeda Takahashi in 2024.
As for Kameos, no release dates have been announced, but it’s likely they will be released alongside the other fighters, much like Tremor. Kameo fighters include the likes of Ferra, Janet Cage, Khameleon, and Mavado. Mortal Kombat 1 is likely sticking around for a while, so more DLC in the future wouldn’t be surprising.
