Dr Disrespect returns: How many watched and what he said

Dr Disrespect stream

Herschel “Dr Disrespect” Beahm made his return to his largest stream yet, but that doesn’t mean that the controversy is over or that he’s not still bitter at Twitch.

Dr Disrespect left the internet a few months ago after facing a wave of viewer and sponsor backlash. A former Twitch employee stated that an unnamed streamer was permanently banned for sexting a minor. This led to Dr Disrespect admitting this was in reference to him and confirming this was why he was permanently banned from Twitch in a now-deleted tweet. Since then, he’s been sending out cryptic updates to his loyal fans, culminating in a return stream on September 6.

While Dr Disrespect admitted to everything, he has simultaneously maintained innocence. That continued here, with an extra helping of criticism toward Twitch employees related to his ban.

Dr Disrespect hits all-time vierwship high in return stream

Dr Disrespect hit over 220,000 in his first stream since admitting to sending inappropriate messages to an underage fan.

Despite getting demonetized on YouTube, the Two-Time decided to have his return stream, titled “The Truth,” on the same platform. He announced the exact time 30 minutes before the stream began, and there were as many as 18,000 viewers before Doc went live.

Once the stream actually began, viewership peaked at 223,460 viewers. This is the highest peak viewership on Dr Disrespect’s YouTube channel as fans and naysayers alike tuned in to see what Doc had to say.

Dr Disrespects admits guilt again, criticizes Twitch for his ban

During his return stream, Dr Disrespect again admitted to sending explicit messages to a minor, stated he hadn’t been convicted of anything, and criticized Twitch for his ban.

During the first hour of the stream, Dr Disrespect reiterated that he did message a minor. He also said that didn’t include inappropriate photos and that officials found nothing illegal. He told the Champions Club that Twitch had targeted him and that moderators had it out for him despite allowing other streamers to prosper despite breaking rules. The 2021 Twitch data leak showed that Dr Disrespect was one of the top-earning streamers on the platform, and was likely the biggest when he was banned.

Doc return stream

Doc then called out former Twitch employee Cody Conners, the one who shared the reason behind the permaban back in 2020. He asked why he felt the need to share the information when he’d just been minding his own business on YouTube. Dr Disrespect then added that the controversy resulted in Midnight Society employees being laid off and the loss of his monetization on YouTube. Midnight Society is a gaming studio that partnered with Dr Disrespect and cut ties with him after Conners’ tweet.

“These former Twitch employees that claim to have first-hand knowledge…They just don’t have a clue. They didn’t report any facts,” Dr Disrespect said, despite admitting to the allegations.

Dr Disrespect followed this up by playing the Black Ops 6 beta, despite previously tweeting that gaming streams are a “snoozefest.” He urged fans to donate to him, noting that he can’t apply for monetization again until the end of September. Fans donated up to $200 and Doc read some of the messages.

While his sub-only chat was full of support, Dr Disrespect still has plenty of critics all over the internet. Many have expressed that YouTube shouldn’t monetize him again and have demanded that he leave the internet for good.
