Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok has nixed an anticipated Ahri skin commemorating T1’s championship victory at Worlds 2023, so what League of Legends champion will he go with instead?

Faker won his fourth championship at Worlds 2023 when T1 went 3-0 against China’s Weibo Gaming in the finals of the event, becoming the first player ever to do so. At the age of 27, he’s also the oldest player to win Worlds. While this win solidified Faker as the GOAT of League of Legends, fans moved on to another important topic; Faker’s skin for winning at Worlds 2023.

Before his victory, fans were already clamoring on social media that he should get something special for this win. Many players expected Faker to get an Ahri skin, given his fondness for the character. Unfortunately, it seems that won’t be the case.

Is Faker getting an Ahri Worlds skin?

Faker is not getting an Ahri ski for his Worlds 2023 win.

Ahri is often regarded as the “mascot” of League of Legends. She is undoubtedly one of the most popular champions of the game and winds up at the center of every major League of Legends project, whether that’s the fighting game Project L or Riot’s K-Pop group, K/DA. It’s a running joke among League fans that “Pool Party Ahri” is the emergency skin Riot would release if the game’s popularity started to wane.

Faker has always been a big fan of Ahri, playing the champion en route to his first championship in 2013. It’s for these reasons that fans believed Ahri was the obvious choice for Faker to pick as his Worlds 2023 skin, but he didn’t.

In a livestream, he confirmed that Ahri is not his pick for his Worlds 2023 skin. Instead, Faker prefers having Orianna or Azir as his skin for Worlds 2023

What are the confirmed Worlds 2023 skins?

Jayce, Yone, Lee Sin, Jinx, Bard, and Renata are in the running as potential skins for Worlds 2023. In the press conference after the World Finals, the first question asked to T1 was what Worlds skin they wanted. Their answers at the time were:

  • Choi “Zeus” Woo-je- Jayce or Yone
  • Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon– Lee Sin (but believes there are too many Lee Sin skins at the moment)
  • Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok– says he hasn’t thought about it
  • Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong– Jinx
  • Ryu “Keria” Min-seok– Wanted Lux, but didn’t play her at Worlds. Opted for Renata or Bard

Faker famously picked Ahri for Worlds 2023 in the first game of the finals, which Ahri mains everywhere took as a sign that he would pick Ahri for his Worlds 2023 skin. Faker has since rejected those claims and indicated that he would prefer Orianna instead.

The T1 star player stated he would pick Ahri “next time.” There’s no doubting the veteran’s confidence in his skills, even as some continually question his staying power.
