The First Descendant just got its new summer skins and fans are already disappointed in the male options.
Since The First Descendant was launched last month, it has gained a huge fan base with its blend of sci-fi elements and intense weapon-based combat. One complaint, however, is the cost. While technically free-to-play, The First Descendant will cost more than other shooters if players do decide to actually spend cash on progression or cosmetics.
Despite initially complaining about those costs, some players changed their mind very quickly when developers announced a line of summer skins that are not afraid to show some skin. But are all of the skins truly worth paying for?
How much will the summer skins cost in The First Descendant?
Summer skins are going to cost quite a lot in The First Descendant. They may still sell in good numbers for developre Nexon, as players have been drooling over the new summer skin bundles, particularly the outfits for Valby and Viessa that have them in bathing suits practically show their entire bodies.
So how much will these skins cost gamers who want to see more skin as they race around the multiplayer shooter? The bundles cost anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000 caliber, which is the game’s currency.
Players can either do an intense amount of grinding or they can pay real-life cash if they can’t stand to play the game without bathing suits any longer. But 5,000 caliber costs $99.99. So players have to pick their favorite character to dress up or pay $100 for multiple bikinis that will cover multiple characters.
On social media, some players have already vowed to eat ramen the rest of the month to make room in their budget for these raunchy skins. YouTube comments had players claiming this would be the first time they open their wallet for The First Descendant, not able to keep away from the draw of bathing suit skins.
Are men in The First Descendant getting sexy skins?
While a few female characters on the roster have been given detailed and revealing outfits, it looks like fans of the game’s male characters will largely miss out.
The male summer skin is a bland Hawaiian shirt, though it is unbuttoned. It will cost 375 Caliber and can be worn by a handful of male characters. Of course, players will have to buy the Hawaiian shirt again for each separate character if they want more than one guy to wear the tacky vacation shirt.
Fans of the male Descendant characters are a bit underwhelmed. The female characters were dressed to impressed, and fans were pleased with the details of each outfit. There were plenty of cool goggles, boots, and clothing details that were worthy of some investment. Meanwhile, the dudes just got a plain Hawaiian shirt like a dad at a backyard BBQ.
Even the too-small sandals with toes hanging over have fans up in arms, and players are hoping Nexon will do better next time.
