These are the five best AniTubers to watch on YouTube

Gigguk and CDawgVA

Anime has become much more mainstream than ever before, and we’ve assembled a list of five AniTubers who stand out for creating the best anime-related content on YouTube.

From Jujutsu Kaisen to Demon Slayer, anime has become much more widely accepted than in years past. This has naturally given rise to multiple creators who base their content on anime, manga, or similar media.

Veteran anime fans will know that a handful of creators were already creating high-quality anime-based content on YouTube. Fans call them AniTubers. Whether they’re delivering over-the-top reaction videos or reviews on the latest anime, five AniTubers have left their marks on the industry for being the most influential and consistent.

Gigguk

The AniTuber Gigguk

Garnt “Gigguk” Maneetapho is widely considered the king of modern AniTube. While most of his peers have either slowed down their uploading or ventured into other types of content, Gigguk continues to make videos on the latest anime. He’s perhaps the only member of the Trash Taste Podcast trio who is still consistent in his content.

His strongest point is his ability to appeal to veteran and new anime fans alike. Gigguk frequently dives deep into anime culture, whether it’s through seasonal anime discussions or broader industry commentary. His most popular videos include his “_ anime in a nutshell” series and the compilation videos he creates at the end of each year.

CDawgVA

The AniTuber CDawgVA

Connor “CDawgVA” Colquhoun isn’t exclusively an AniTuber anymore, but his roots are still deeply tied to anime. He owes his rise to fame to anime voiceover content and anime commentary, and he quickly became one of the most influential figures in the anime community on YouTube.

Much of this creator’s success came from his ability to keep any topic interesting. While he clearly was never as well-versed on anime as the other creators on this list, he still made an effort to appeal to his audience. Whether by collaborating with other AniTubers or cosplaying as one of the many Jojo characters, CDawgVA has already left his mark on the industry.

Scamboli Reviews

The AniTuber Scamboli Reviews

While most other creators on our best AniTubers list gravitate toward short-form content or more surface-level opinions on anime, Scamboli Reviews is the most influential anime essay creator. The way he blends humor and surprisingly deep analysis of anime with his strong opinions resonates with much of his audience.

Scamboli Reviews doesn’t mind taking risks, even if it means he likely won’t get a ton of views for certain videos. He frequently covers hidden gems and niche anime that don’t have large fan followings, just because he’s passionate about them.

His style makes him stand apart from most others in the space, and that’s a good reason to give him a shot.

The Anime Man

The AniTuber The Anime Man

Joey “The Anime Man” Bizinger is considered the founder of modern AniTubers, and he remains one of the best on YouTube. He launched his channel in 2013 and is one of the few creators who had success on YouTube even before anime really blew up internationally.

He became famous through his anime discussion videos and reviews of anime, manga, and Japanese cultural products in general. Joey moved to Japan in 2016 and has lived there since, becoming something of a middleman between Japanese and Western anime fans.

While he isn’t nearly as active as he used to be, The Anime Man still frequently makes videos on the happenings in the anime community.

Mother’s Basement

The AniTuber Mothers Basement

Geoff “Mother’s Basement” Thew may not produce content with the highest production quality or have direct connections in the anime industry, but his videos still resonate with his audience. He creates detailed breakdowns of anime storytelling, themes, openings, endings, and anime fight scenes, explaining all of the symbolism and hidden references behind them.

While he isn’t the biggest AniTuber, he’s certainly among the most consistent. Mother’s Basement has regularly uploaded videos for over a decade, with ample research behind every video that needs it. His essay-style videos are much more formal and detailed than Scamboli’s, helping him to stand out even among the other best AniTubers on this list.
