It’s been officially revealed that an anime adaptation of Gnosia is coming, and the release date is soon.
Earlier this weekend, an X account was created for the Gnosia anime, which is based on a social deducation-style RPG game. This included an official poster for the show as well as a teaser trailer. A short video shows characters in action on a suspenseful investigation. T
Here’s what we know about the Gnosia anime so far.
Gnosia anime release date
The Gnosia anime will have a release date in 2025, likely later in the year. Gnosia will likely stream on Crunchyroll, but no details about the show’s whereabouts have been shared just yet.
Gnosia is an RPG game developed by Petit Depotto and published by Playism. The player must decide who is amongst a secluded spaceship crew is actually an alien hellbent on killing the humans on board. The player attempts to figure out who the alien is with the NPCs, nominating the most sus player to be put into cryo-sleep.
It is very similar to the hit game Among Us but with a more serious edge. Gnosia is set in the far future when an infestation has become prevalent on certain planets, including the one that the main character is from. They escape from the planet as a refugee on a ship but unfortunately, the infestation has also reached the crew on board.
Gnosia anime plot, characters
The details of Gnosia’s plot and characters have not been revealed. So far, fans only have a short teaser trailer to go off of. However, there are some elements of the game that will likely carry over similar to Arcane with League of Legends.
The game version of Gnosia has a sci-fi space setting that will likely be where the show takes place. The plot will likely be based on the spreading infection and the crew’s attempt to remove any potentially infected members that have become the alien. The simple game does have deep lore behind it, including a shrine maiden that’s a hivemind of cyber-enhanced humans who have uploaded their minds to its database. This explains how the timeline loops whenever the player dies. There’s an entity called the Silver Key that attaches itself to humans to gather data through the time loop experience.
There are also 15 characters in the game, including starting characters Setsu, Raquio, SQ, and Gina. These characters will likely be in the anime with fleshed-out personalities and backstories.
