How many characters will be in Dragon Ball: Sparking ZERO?
Dragon Ball: Sparking ZERO is confirmed to have 164 total character slots, including the various character transformations.
So far, trailers and other promotional material for the upcoming Budokai Tenkaichi successor revealed that characters from the four main arcs of Dragon Ball Z up through the Universal Survival Saga of Dragon Ball Super are in the game’s character roster.
However, it’s currently unclear if the game will feature characters from the original Dragon Ball, the upcoming Dragon Ball Daima, or the various non-canon movies the series has spawned. Additionally, the Dragon Ball Super manga has finished several arcs since the Universal Survival Saga, where the anime left off, raising the question of whether currently manga-exclusive characters will be part of Sparking ZERO’s roster.
Will Dragon Ball: Sparking ZERO have characters from Dragon Ball GT?
Bandai Namco has not confirmed if Dragon Ball: Sparking ZERO will have characters from Dragon Ball GT.
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and 3 had characters from Dragon Ball GT, including the GT versions of Goku and Vegeta, but they weren’t in the “Rivals” trailer Bandai Namco uploaded on YouTube showcasing multiple versions of the two characters. However, Goku’s Ultra Instinct form and Vegeta’s Ultra Ego form weren’t confirmed either, suggesting that GT characters might get announced later.
DbsHype, a well-known news reporter in the Dragon Ball space, previously stated that the game would include characters from Dragon Ball GT. They doubled down on this statement after the “Rivals” trailer dropped.
