Here’s how to get Marvel Rivals beta key Twitch drops & when you can

Marvel Rivals has announced that it will enable Twitch drops for closed beta test keys; here’s how to get one.

Taking a page from games like Overwatch 2, Marvel Rivals seemingly popped up out of nowhere with heroes, villains, and anti-heroes that form teams of six to dominate maps using ability combos and team-based strategy. When it was announced, fans felt the gameplay and maps were surprisingly similar to Overwatch but they still had high hopes for the game — even thinking it could pick up the slack where Overwatch 2 has started falling off.

Since its announcement, Marvel Rivals has had a few playtests and hero announcements. Now, developers are inviting fans to watch the game in action — in the hands of popular FPS streamers — and unlock closed beta test keys for doing so!

Marvel Rivals beta test key Twitch drop dates and times confirmed

Marvel Rivals beta keys will be available via Twitch drop from July 24 to July 27, or July 25 to 28 depending on the time zone. A unique distribution system is being used for the event.

Marvel Rivals Twitch Drops

Each day there are set times that the keys will drop and a set number of keys that will be distributed. There’s a “first-come, first-served” distribution system. Players who miss out on a key one day can try again the next day.

The Twitch drop period for Marvel Rivals beta keys begins at 8 pm ET or 5 pm PT on July 24 in North America, and on July 25 at 2 am Central European Time. Only a certain number of keys are available, so players will want to ensure they meet the criteria as quickly as possible.

When is the next Marvel Rivals closed beta test?

The Marvel Rivals closed beta runs from July 23 until August 5.

Marvel Rivals has already seen numerous small-scale playtests. Some of these have been defined by controversy, with Nexon contractually forcing participants to say positive things about the game.

This closed beta test will have two new characters to play relative to previous ones; Venom and Adam Warlock. The full Marvel Rivals roster was previously leaked, but will not be entirely available during this beta. There is also a tournament participants can enter called War of the Realms. This PC-based online tournament will start on July 31.

How to get Marvel Rivals Twitch beta key drops

Players can get a Marvel Rivals beta key via Twitch drops by linking accounts and watching content for the game.

The process isn’t unusual, but it isn’t done entirely through Twitch. Instead, players will have to get started directly through the official Marvel Rivals website.

Here is the step-by-step process for getting a Twitch drop for Marvel Rivals’ closed beta:

  1. Connect a Twitch account to the Marvel Rivals official website
  2. Go to the Marvel Rivals Twitch category during the event
  3. Find a channel that is tagged as “drops enabled”
  4. Watch at least 60 minutes of a Marvel Rivals stream; note that a timer will be visible if everything is set up correctly
  5. Claim a closed beta test key and redeem it on your platform of choice
  6. Redeem the code on your preferred digital storefront

This process will partly run through the official Marvel Rivals website. Players will want to make sure they visit the site and set this up before the event starts, if possible. From there, the process is standard fare and works the same as most other Twitch drop campaigns.

After receiving a key, players can redeem it through their preferred digital storefront. Whether it’s PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, or PC, this is done through the standard “redeem” menu.
