Here’s how to redeem a Valorant code in-game or on the website

Lucky players with a generous friend who has gifted a Valorant Points gift card and those who take part in special events ought to learn how to redeem codes.

Valorant skins are expensive and make perfect gift items for loved ones and in-game duos. Unfortunately, a gifting system is yet to be released in Valorant. However, Riot Games allows players to buy gift cards from retailers and send the redemption code to a friend. This code can then be redeemed in-game for Valorant Points.

Alongside this are limited-time events. Riot also releases annual Pride Month cards that can be redeemed with a time-limited code as well, and other events with free cosmetics also pop up from time to time.

Redeeming those codes in Valorant is pretty simple. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it on both the website and in-game.

How to redeem a Valorant code on the official website

This method is for players looking to redeem a time-limited code on the go. Thankfully, players are not obligated to start Valorant in order to snag free items.

  • Go to Riot Games’ shop here
  • Log in with your Valorant account credentials
  • Paste the code
  • Click on the red “Redeem Code” icon
  • A new window detailing your items will appear
  • Click on the Redeem Code button again and start Valorant

As one would expect, players will automatically have the items added to their inventory or the currency will be added to their account. Codes are typically only redeemable once.

How to redeem a Valorant code in-game

Valorant codes can be redeemed in-game, allowing players to instantly enjoy the rewards of their purchase. Here’s how to do it:

  • Launch the Valorant game client
  • Go to the store page
  • Click on the Valorant logo on the right of the tab
  • Select “Prepaid Cards & Codes”
  • Enter the provided code for your card or skin item
  • Click Submit

Until Riot adds a gifting system, players may use this method to support duos and friends by sending VP codes.

Precedent suggests that this will be added to Valorant at some point. Riot Games’ League of Legends has a similar monetization and microtransaction offering. Though it took some time, the ability to gift friends currency and skins did eventually arrive in the game. Until this comes to Valorant, players will need to redeem codes the old-fashioned way.
