Redgrass-Roasted Bidou is a dish players can cook in Metaphor: ReFantazio, but finding the required ingredients can get confusing and how spicy should players make it?
Atlus’ games are known for giving players the freedom to juggle many tasks, from choosing who to date to pursuing select hobbies. This freedom is largely why games like the Persona series are so popular. Now, fans have a whole new collection of tasks to complete and hobbies to pursue in Metaphor: ReFantazio.
While Metaphor: ReFantazio is set in a fantasy-medieval world, some staples found in previous Atlus games are still present. One of those staples is the protagonist of Metaphor grinding his social stats, now dubbed royal virtues. One of the earliest opportunities to do this is cooking Redgrass-Roasted Bidou, although finding the required ingredients isn’t exactly straightforward.

Where to find the ingredients for Redgrass-Roasted Bidou in Metaphor: ReFantazio
Players must purchase Bidou Meat, Pristine Clearwater, and Redgrass to cook the Redgrass-Roasted Bidou in Metaphor: ReFantazio. All three are available for purchase in the Regalith Grand Cathedral marketplace in Grand Trad.
The first two required ingredients are easily purchaseable. The Burly Butcher sells the Bidou Meat for 250 reeve, while the Water Merchant sells the Pristine Clearwater for 50 reeve.

However, acquiring the Redgrass requires extra effort. First, the player must go to the Hushed Honeybee Inn in Grand Trad. There, speak with the “Knowledgeable Man” who sells the “Secret of the Redgrass Shop” information for 600 reeve.
Finally, return to the marketplace area and approach the herb seller. Use the new “Do you know Grius?” option and the herb seller will be willing to sell Redgrass. One piece costs 150 reeve, while a batch of four costs 500. Only one is required for cooking with Fabienne.

How to make the Redgrass-Roasted Bidou in Metaphor: ReFantazio
Players need to speak with Fabienne at night after gathering the ingredients to make Redgrass-Roasted Bidou.
Since the Hushed Honeybee Inn in Grand Trad is busier at night, speaking with Fabienne prompts her to ask the player for help in the kitchen. Here, the player has two options. The first is to help her, which increases the tolerance stat, and the second is to make the Redgrass-Roasted Bidou.

As long as the player has the required ingredients, selecting the second option will initiate a cutscene. Here, the player can make the dish spicier, follow the recipe, or let Gallica decide. This has an impact on the royal virtue gains from finishing this quest.
Make sure to follow the recipe when making Redgrass-Roasted Bidou
Players should follow the recipe when making Redgrass-Roasted Bidou, rather than choosing to make it spicier or letting Gallica call an audible.
All three options give one Redgrass-Roasted Bidou. The key difference is that following the recipe gives the largest boost to the tolerance stat.
The dish restores 400 HP and cures the Burn status effect for one character. Like other Atlus games, having extra healing items is a good idea, especially when battling Metaphor: ReFantazio’s version of “humans.”
