Streamers have proven that the Elden Ring DLC’s hardest boss, Promised Consort Radahn, isn’t just somebody to cheese, he can be beaten in one hit with the right combination of buffs.
Promised Consort Radahn is the final boss of the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC and some are saying he’s among the one of the hardest bosses to beat in almost any FromSoftware game. The boss is so difficult to beat that Soulslike veterans have struggled to take the Demigod down. While this resurrected Radahn has weaknesses to multiple status effects and NPCs can be summoned to help, there are more efficient options available.
A streamer has found a way to take down Radahn and Miquella in a single hit. Ainrun showed how to take down this fearsome boss in a single hit using a carefully crafted build and a particular set of buffs.
All the buffs needed to beat Promised Consort Radahn in one hit
Steamer Ainrun used a long buffing ritual to beat Radahn in a single hit in Elden Ring: Shadow of Erdtree.
Buffs often make the most difficult bosses fall to a handful of hits, but streamer Ainrun took things one step further. By using a series of self-inflicted status effects and equipment that boosts attack power when they occur. For each attempt, Ainrun spent more than a minute stacking buffs and less than 10 to land the decisive hit on Radahn. He was able to do this with a level 140 character, which isn’t particularly high given how players can approach 200 just by beating both the base game and DLC.
The full list of buffs to one-hit kill Radahn and the process for using them is as follows:
- Lulling Branch
- Seppuku (x2)
- Wondrous Physick (Spiked Cracked Tear and Bloodsucking Cracked Tear)
- Frenzyflame Stone
- Sacred Bloody Flesh
- Bloodboil Aromatic
- Rallying Standard
- Swap helmet to Mushroom Crown
- Equip Lord of Blood’s Exultation
- Equip Kindred of Rot’s Exultation
- Raw Meat Dumpling
- Swap helmet to White Mask
- Seppuku
- Soul Stifler
- Walk through fog gate
- Equip Twinbird Kite Shield
- Swap Lord of Blood’s Exultation for Red Feathered Branchsword
- Swap Kindred of Rot’s Exultation for Spear Talisman
- Royal Knight’s Resolve
The process relies on using regular buffs from weapons and items alongside separate buffs from armor and talismans. The process requires players to self-inflict status effects in a specific order. Pairing this with the right pieces of equipment adds even more buffs.
With the series of buffs stacked, all the streamer had to do was ensure his upgraded Godskin Stitcher was set to two-handed. Ainrun dodged the initial attack, used a final Royal Knight’s Resolve, and landed a charged heavy attack. This dealt over 105,000 damage, taking the Elden Ring DLC’s final boss down in one hit.
Because Radahn has two phases, dealing so much damage in one hit prompted his second phase’s cutscene to start playing. However, when the cutscene ended the boss instantly fell dead, granting the streamer his much-deserved victory.
Ainrun isn’t the first streamer to one-shot Promised Consort Radahn, but he stands as one of the most prolific Elden Ring challenge runners on Twitch. Ainrun famously managed to beat five Malenia, Blade of Miquellas at once.
While fans might want to try and replicate this, it’s not particularly easy. It requires precise swapping and timing to make sure all of these buffs are in effect at the same time and that the fight starts at low health. Even if everything is done perfectly, a one-hit victory over Radahn requires RNG where he gets close and stands in place long enough to get hit with a charged heavy attack.
