A new addition to the Life is Strange series is coming in Double Exposure, and fans want to know all the details about the editions and release date differences.
Life is Strange is a beloved series that adds a supernatural twist to the slice-of-life genre. Though the series has pressed forward, Double Exposure is slated to bring back Max, the protagonist of the first game. She’ll once again be tasked with solving a murder mystery split across two timelines.
Like other games, players can buy various editions of Life is Strange: Double Exposure, and they all have different additions and price points. Here’s what each one brings and how much they cost.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure story, gameplay details
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back the series’ signature story-focused gameplay, as well as its original main character.
The game is based in the fictional Caledon University in Vermont and an adult Max travels between two timelines to try and prevent the murder of her friend. That may sound familiar to players, but Double Exposure sets it apart in terms of its gameplay. Max’s ability to rewind the time is not making a comeback and instead, Max will be jumping between timelines.
All Life is Strange: Double Exposure versions and edition prices
Life is Strange: Double Exposure will have three editions, which come at different price tags based on how much content they offer.
All three editions of Life is Strange are available for preorder digitally through the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and Steam, and a physical release for the standard edition is set for all three consoles. The standard version is priced at $49.99, while two other versions are on offer.
The standard version is the cheapest and only includes the full game with no extra content. Life is Strange: Double Exposure Deluxe Edition is priced at $59.99 and gives players the following cosmetic items:

The top tier is Life is Strange: Double Exposure Ultimate Edition, which has the selling point of letting players play Chapters 1 and 2 two weeks before the release date. The ultimate edition costs $79.99 and includes the following:

Life is Strange: Double Exposure release date and platforms
Life is Strange: Double Exposure is scheduled to launch on October 29 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Players who spend the extra $30 for the ultimate edition will have access to the first two chapters on October 15.
A Nintendo Switch release is planned for Life is Strange: Double Exposure. It will not be released alongside the other platforms. No release date has been confirmed, but retailers have it listed as coming out in 2024.
The game is one of the first major releases from Square Enix in its post-exclusivity era.
