Silent Hills may finally come to pass, as there are further hints that OD Knock may actually be Kojima’s true follow-up to PT.

Horror game fans still regularly talk about PT. Despite being a demo from 2014 for a canceled game that isn’t even available anymore, the terrifying walking simulator is still held up as a triumph of the genre. While Konami technically saw the game through by releasing its own first-person Silent Hill game, The Short Message, fans have been clamoring to play whatever it was that Kojima had planned.

There are new hints that this may actually happen. The OD Knock teaser trailer contains a second round of hints that the game will be the fully realized PT. Here’s what we know.

OD Knock effectively confirmed as PT sequel

The teaser trailer for OD Knock contains a hidden hint that it’s actually Kojima’s “Silent Hills,” the canceled successor to the PT demo.

On September 22, 2025, Kojima Productions released a new teaser trailer for OD, revealing the “Knock” subtitle. This was the first piece of new media regarding the game since it was revealed in 2023 during The Game Awards. After a card is slid through a door, the screen turns black and shows multiple bits of redacted text.

Fans were able to decipher that the redacted text in the OD Knock trailer says “ten years since the legendary horror game PT, the cursed survivors have once again ventured into the forbidden. This building was replicated from a 3D scan of an abandoned clinic found in an isolated village. And then, they were trapped in a sinister ritual.”

This would effectively confirm that OD Knock is a direct sequel to PT, and that it will be akin to what Kojima had planned for Silent Hills.

Microsoft and Kojima Productions wouldn’t be legally allowed to explicitly say as much. The franchise is still owned by Konami, with the publisher now actively shipping content related to the series after an extended lull. While Konami’s reboot of the Silent Hill franchise got off to an ugly start with Silent Hill Ascension, reviews for Silent Hill 2 were generally strong and Silent Hill F has enjoyed the same.

This isn’t the first time Hideo Kojima has teased that OD Knock is actually Silent Hills

Hideo Kojima has now repeatedly teased that OD is set to be Silent Hills.

The game was initially announced at The Game Awards in 2023, with Kojima appearing at the event. He entered the stage to reveal OD through a door with a light over it that was strikingly similar to the door at the end of PT’s hallway. Alongside this was a deep dive into the appearance of Udo Kier.

During the reveal trailer, a series of letters appear in Udo Kier’s mouth. These letters spell out “Atami.” Atami is a city in Japan, located in Shizuoka Prefecture. The name “Shizuoka” in kanji can also be translated to “silent hill.”

While this was seen as a reach by some, the back-to-back trailers having hints regarding a connection between OD Knock and Silent Hills effectively confirms this is the plan. Though the game won’t have the name, it seems like fans will finally get the game they’ve been waiting for.
