Independent vtuber Shylily has unveiled her latest new model, and fans are comparing her popular new look with Genshin Impact’s Melusines.
Shylily is one of the biggest independent vtubers streaming today on Twitch or anywhere else, boasting more than 1.6 million Twitch followers and over 1.1 million YouTube subscribers. The vtuber is famous for her orca-cat hybrid look and her chaotic personality, broadcasting Just Chatting streams to her legions of followers.
Her fans are known as shrimps, and the vtuber recently had a fresh surprise for them. She announced that a new model would be releasing soon, and Shylily has now unveiled that new look to much fanfare.
Shylily debuts new furry model to fan acclaim
The orcat vtuber debuted a new self-described furry model during a Twitch livestream in July 2026 following much anticipation among fans about how Shylily would look with the new design. Shylily keep her viewers waiting long, showing off the new model just shortly after the broadcast began.
The vtuber appeared with knee-length hair, her signature tail, a short skirt, and a sheer crop top. She also had ribbons on her wrist and thigh, an anklet on her ankle, and a pendant around her neck. The creator soon showed off another removable accessory, a pair of sunglasses, to match the signature blue and white theme of her new model.
Viewers were instantly impressed, and many claimed that this was Shylily’s best model to date. Some even stated that Shyliy looks like she had stepped right out of Genshin Impact or Star Fox. But Shylily wasn’t done yet, as she showed off some of the additional bells and whistles that the new furry model comes with.
The first new thing the vtuber displayed was that her skirt and crop top are both removable, leaving the vtuber in her swimwear. With just a quick toggle, the vtuber was all set for a day at the beach where appropriate swimwear is a must. She then showed off that the blue swimsuit can change colors, and showcased how she looks in the secondary pink-and-purple coloring.
Shylily still wasn’t done, as she displayed another feature of her model through which she can toggle the designs on her body to glow, enable a dark model, and even put together a fantasy-themed look straight out of a JRPG. Viewers were particularly impressed with the latter look, as it made the vtuber glow in various colors.
The general consensus among the streamer’s community was largely positive, with some saying that Shylily’s furry model was long overdue but worth the wait. Several other vtubers have released furry models, so Shylily’s fans were also impatiently waiting for her to do the same.
Shylily’s debut has seemingly lived up to the great hype that her announcement had created, and the vtuber has already started using the new model for streams.
Updates like these have kept Shylily among the most popular independent vtubers, and given her current trajectory and the rampant fan interest in her streams, it seems likely that she’ll continue to be near the top of the independent vtuber ranks for the foreseeable future.
