Before the Amelia Watson character was created, the person behind the vtuber apparently went by the name Sachiowo online. She was a Twitch streamer who would broadcast face-cam content and openly displayed herself to viewers.
While Amelia Watson never confirmed that she’s Sachiowo, diligent fans have noted several things that point towards this likely being the case.
Fans have pointed to Sachiowo and Amelia Watson’s voice and mannerisms being very similar, as well as the timing of the Twitch streamer stopping content creation and the vtuber being created. Both also had similar content, as Sachiowo was an avid games streamer and Amelia Watson was also a big fan of gaming content.
There was speculation at the time that Hololive had sent an offer to Sachiowo because of her popularity, and that the agency wanted to recruit her for its first English generation. This is likely why Sachiowo deleted her official X account, YouTube videos, VODs, and other content.
Despite most of that content having been deleted, fans were still able to dig up old videos of Sachiowo, which is how the community put together IRL images of Amelia Watson despite the lack of a formal face reveal by the vtuber.
