Stardew Valley is one of the biggest indie video games to date, and its next update will aim on bringing as many as 8 players together for a good, cozy time.
Farming simulators are very popular, even more so in the past few years, and Stardew Valley is one that all kinds of different players adore. Now they have all the more reason to, as Concerned Ape, the creator behind Stardew Valley, has released a teaser letting players know what to expect in the upcoming update 1.6.
This update is set to bring many new features, including a brand-new farm, winter clothing items for villagers, and even the ability for PC players to have a lobby with up to 8 players.
Stardew Valley update allows 8-player multiplayer farms
Many players are most excited about the introduction of 8-player multiplayer farms to Stardew Valley. The game has offered a 4-player co-op since 2022, and while it isn’t cross-play, gamers have still hosted many farms with their friends on either console or PC.
In the newest update, PC players will be able to have up to 8 players in their farm world instead of the four maximum from before. 4-player houses would be placed on a single farm for players to then share and build up together. Now, this number is increasing again.
With eight players in one lobby, it only makes sense that more farmhouses will be added for them to live in. Houses can later be removed upon request if players so desire.
What’s coming to Stardew Valley in update 1.6
An image Concerned Ape shared on X displayed a list of upcoming features in update 1.6, including a new major festival, a total of two mini-festivals, some new game content that will expand on each skill area, and a new farm type. Some of these features were previously leaked a few months back.
Not only were all these new features teased in the image, but there are also some “new secrets,” which could include an assortment of things coming to Stardew Valley in the next update, especially with new mysterious caves set all around and many more areas to explore.
For now, there is no official release date set for this upcoming 1.6 update for Stardew Valley, but it promises to be a good update given the teases.
