The wild reason why N3on got banned on Twitch

N3on banned

Twitch has banned Rangesh “N3on” Mutama, and reports suggest a controversial TwitchCon incident as the cause.

Streaming has become the spawning ground for countless controversial streamers, from political discourse to influencer beef over some complicated misunderstandings. Sometimes, however, streamers are controversial intentionally. Viewers have accused the 20-year-old streamer Rangesh Mutama of doing just that.

Viewers criticized N3on’s content for blatant “clickbait.” Mutama began his career through Fortnite videos, often with misleading thumbnails. Multiple instances saw N3on allegedly faking COVID-19, being in jail, and even his own death, before subsequently apologizing when caught.

As a young adult, N3on’s career didn’t get any less controversial.

Why did Twitch ban N3on?

N3on implies the reason why Twitch banned him was an incident at Twitch Con after he misgendered an LGBT creator.

In the video, N3on interacted with an LGBT streamer who identified with feminine pronouns. N3on reportedly said “Have a great day, man, or sir, or ma’am,” at the end of their initial conversation, prompting criticism from the LGBT streamer.

“Mistakes happen, but these are the kind of situations we run into… what’s your angle?” she said in response to N3on’s misgendering. Nevertheless, she accepted N3on’s apology, and Mutama left after awkwardly offering a brofist to her handshake. “Oh my god bro, the look in her-, the look in his eyes, he wanted to beat my a–”, said N3on after leaving the conversation.

Hours after the incident, Twitch banned N3on, though no official reasons have been given out. However, N3on’s tweet afterward implies the ban was due to the misgendering incident on stream. It is unknown how long the ban will last.

While N3on claims not to have intentionally misgendered the streamer, the incident did not surprise viewers given his history of controversial behavior. Kick infamously banned N3on in April 2024 after a life-threatening incident. N3on, alongside Antonio “Squeeze.Benz” Ginestri, caught themselves on stream colliding with another vehicle, before promptly fleeing the scene.

With a long history of clout chasing and instigating heated situations, some viewers worry about the young streamer’s longevity on the platform. N3on’s story showcases the toxic online culture that young creators grow up in, and how it sculpts their content moving forward.
