Buyer’s remorse happens to the best of gamers, and Valorant thankfully makes it easy to refund certain items. If you’re fast enough, that is.
Free-to-play titles make it possible for gamers on a budget to enjoy the latest competitive shooters. Still, every company needs to turn a profit and Riot Games often does it through purchasable skins and cosmetic items. Jokes of a Pool Party Ahri skin in League of Legends being an “emergency” resort for Riot Games didn’t come from nothing, after all.
However, gamers can sometimes make impulsive purchases that they quickly regret. Others may have siblings who made purchases on their account without their consent and now have to deal with the extra expense. Regardless of the context, Valorant players do have avenues to refund their purchases, with specific conditions attached.
How to request a refund in Valorant
Players can request refunds by submitting a ticket on the official Valorant support site
The official support site for Valorant provides an easy way for players to request refunds. The steps below detail the process on the Valorant site:
- Under Choose a Request Type, select “In-Game Question/Issue & In-Game Content Refund”
- Select the platform where the content was purchased
- Type “Refund for in-game content” under the subject field
- Under Inquiry, select “In-game content: Question, Issue or Refund”
- Describe the situation and the reasons for a refund
- Attach any screenshots for proof
- Submit
As players can see, the refund process isn’t really an easy one. Alongside the numerous steps, it can also take time for tickets to be processed. The kicker is that while Riot Games does offer refunds, not every player or item is eligible.
Am I eligible for refunds in Valorant?
Valorant players can only get refunds on unused in-game content or VP within 14 days of purchase. Not all items or purchases can be refunded.
Here’s a list of items that players cannot get refunds for in Valorant:
- Agents
- Used Weapon Skins
- Upgraded Weapon Skins
- Weapon Skin Levels
- Weapon Bundles
- Used Accessories
- Premium Battle Passes and Levels
- Radianite Points
- Items purchased with Kingdom Credits
A Valorant item is considered used once the player has reached a loading screen with that item equipped. Used items are not eligible for a refund. That means if you’ve purchased a skin or bundle, added it to your loadout, and played a game, it can no longer be refunded.
If a player’s purchase falls under any of these categories, then they are unfortunately out of luck. For players with extraordinary circumstances, such as a hack, they will need to reach out to Valorant support to clarify the situation.
