With only a few clicks, anyone can easily keep their Valorant account level hidden from both teammates and opponents, here’s how.
Rank isn’t the sole metric that exists for showing off playtime and experience someone has in the game. Like League of Legends, Valorant features an account level system that lets players rack up Account Points (AP) from any game mode they play. While hitting a high level in the game can feel satisfying, not everyone feels comfortable sharing how much time they’ve invested, especially when matched with toxic players.
Fortunately, Riot Games implemented the option to hide account levels in Valorant, and here’s how players can do it.
How to your account level in Valorant
Players can hide their account level in their profile settings in Valorant. It’s not obvious how to do so, however, as it’s buried in the menus.
By default, Valorant account levels appear on the Player Card in most game modes. The sole exception is Competitive mode, where the players’ previous Act Rank is shown instead. If displayed player levels are visible for both teammates and opponents to see. Unfortunately, there is no option available to control who is capable of seeing your Valorant player levels; it’s everybody or nobody.
Here’s how to hide Valorant player level from all players in-game:
- Launch Valorant
- Go to the Collection tab at the top of the screen
- Click on Player Cards
- Select Level Borders
- Uncheck “Show my account level on my player card”
Similarly, players can customize their Level Border, located on the left side of the screen.
Once unchecked, the player’s account level won’t appear on their player card in both the Lobby and Loading Screen. However, it will still be visible to friends on their friend list. Although it’s hidden in-game, players using Valorant Trackers can still access this information.
Should you hide your level in Valorant?
Whether you should hide your level in Valorant is down to player preference.
Some players like to keep their Valorant level visible to show they’re new. Others might want to show off how long they’ve been playing the game.
However, other players may want to keep their level hidden to dodge toxicity or to keep expectations in check. Even in more casual and laidback game modes like Swiftplay and Unrated, there are still instances where a player with an account level above 300, or whoever has the highest level, will be expected to click heads better than everyone else. Sometimes, they might even get called out or flamed if their game doesn’t quite match their level.
This is especially the case with players who might bounce between Valorant on console and PC. Not everyone is equally skilled on controller when compared to a mouse and keyboard.
How thick the player’s skin, and how confident they are in their abilities, will come into play.
