Face reveals in the vtuber world are typically considered taboo for creators who want to remain anonymous, but when QQJellies had her face accidentally shown during a stream, she surprised fans by announcing that it was all for the best.
Anonymity is a major part of the equation for successful vtubers, with some content creators even going so far as to use voice changers so they can’t be recognized while streaming. Some popular creators, such as ShyLily, try very hard to keep their faces hidden, even requesting that emojis or other covers be put in place for whenever they are doing IRL content.
QQJellies was recently part of a mishap that led to her face being visible in a recent stream in an unintentional reveal. But the vtuber has been only positive about it, even saying that it turned out well in the end.
MeesterKeem caused QQJellies to accidentally reveal her face on stream
This incident occurred during Gamescom 2026 when QQJellies saw and approached MeesterKeem to take a picture with her fellow streamer. The vtuber is obviously a fan, and told MeesterKeem that they had previously met at TwitchCon.
While talking, MeesterKeem mentioned that they were streaming live then and there, shocking QQJellies as she realized that she had inadvertently been captured live in the stream. The vtuber waved at viewers, saying hi, then waved again and said bye, walking away.
This incident started a chain reaction, with some blaming MeesterKeem while others were saying that QQJellies should’ve known the popular streamer would likely be livestreaming at the time. MeesterKeem responded to the backlash, saying he had no idea QQJellies wanted to remain anonymous and that he was just streaming normally as he would at any other time.
QQJellies discussed the incident in a livestream just two days later. At the start of the stream, she gave fans a peek of her face and then revealed that she had been thinking about expanding to traditional content for some time. She even joked that she had posted a TikTok about how an accidental face reveal could lead to some successful content farming.
The vtuber then answered questions about why she approached MeesterKeem while he was IRL streaming. She said she assumed he’d start streaming after entering the convention, and didn’t realize that the person with a camera nearby was capturing MeesterKeem live.
QQJellies went so far as to say that the “universe heard her,” indicating that she’s fully at peace with the face reveal. The vtuber said that she wants to do something different, and staying exclusively behind a virtual avatar would stop her from achieving all of her goals in streaming. Even at the convention at which the face reveal took place, QQJellies was seeing other creators while thinking about how she could’t do anything similar if she remained strictly a vtuber.
While QQJellies hasn’t yet announced her exact plans for the future, it’s likely the creator will do both vtuber streams and create some more traditional content. QQJellies has talked about expanding her content in new directions while still not about retiring from the vtuber scene, so this mix would likely make the most sense.
