Kai Cenat is heavy into his Mafiathon 2 stream, where he hopes to get his subscriber record back from vtuber Ironmouse, but things went awry when the streamer injured his arm while on-air.
Kai Cenat used to be the most-subscribed streamer on Twitch until Ironmouse took the record during a recent subathon. This forced Kai Cenat to leave his “basketball career” to claim his title back. He promised fans that this would include a subathon of his own, something he’s done in the past to great effect.
Mafiathon 2 has been happening since the start of November, despite a few setbacks. There have been special guests like Snoop Dogg, a house tour, a discussion about going to space, and the usual antics with his YouTube squad AMP. All of this chaos has brought Kai Cenat more than 300,000 subscribers, but it hasn’t come without its complications.
What happened to Kai Cenat’s arm?
Kai Cenat seemingly separated his shoulder during a game of hide-and-seek in the middle of Mafiathon 2.
The streamer rented a house for the broadcast; a massive mansion with a breathtaking foyer. Over the weekend, Cenat and his crew decided to play hide-and-seek on stream in the house. While hiding, Cenat was taunting the seeker and running away.
The camera cuts away but as it’s following the seeker, Cenat can be heard yelling “my shoulder” multiple times. The chat immediately started speculating if he was for real or just being dramatic for views. When the stream cut back to Kai Cenat, he was lying on the ground with one of his arms in an awkward position.
“It’s dislocated,” Cenat exclaimed while prone on the floor.
As Cenat begged his friend to help him pop it back into place, the chat switched between skepticism and fear. Some wrote that the Mafiathon could be over if he was truly injured. Others simply said it was for show, pointing out how he was moving still despite the shoulder pain.
Either way, Kai Cenat was apparently okay after the fall. On November 11, he livestreamed himself having a plank-holding contest during a gym session.
The current subscriber record is 326,252, held by Vshojo-sponsored streamer Ironmouse. Cenat was around 285,000 when he blew out his shoulder, but cleared the 300,000 mark not long after. While he doesn’t necessarily need to be in peak physical health to stream, Kai Cenat certainly doesn’t want to be dealing with a recurring arm injury.
