Popular Twitch streamer Kai Cenat was banned from Twitch during his subathon stream, and fans want to know if this means Mafiathon 2 has been suddenly canceled.
Kai Cenat is one of the most recognizable figures in the streaming space. He held the record as the most-subscribed Twitch streamer before vtuber Ironmouse claimed it. He has collaborated with celebrities ranging from Kevin Hart to LeBron James. His most recent collaboration was with Kim Kardashian when he announced his Mafiathon 2 marathon stream to reclaim his lost title.
While his marathon was off to a smooth start, the stream ended prematurely when Twitch banned Kai Cenat. While the streamer is now unbanned, fans wonder if the unexpected stop means Kai Cenat will delay his Mafiathon 2 stream.
Why was Kai Cenat banned from Twitch during Mafiathon 2?
Kai Cenat received a six-minute ban from Twitch because someone called the police on him, prompting an investigation at his house.
Streamers getting falsely swatted is nothing new as malicious fans and viewers alike make false reports against popular streamers. This is usually done so that police effectively raid their homes during live streams. Kai Cenat was the most recent victim of this practice when someone reported that there was a shooting at his house.
The false report prompted the police to appear at Kai Cenat’s home during the stream. As the ensuing activity was against Twitch’s terms of service, the streamer received a temporary ban. The ban was lifted after just over six minutes once the incident was over. While not the record he intended to break, this incident resulted in Kai Cenat breaking the record for the fastest unban on the platform.
Will Mafiathon 2 continue after Kai Cenat Twitch ban?
As soon as the police left the premises of his house, Kai Cenat continued with his Mafiathon 2 marathon stream despite the Twitch ban setback.
Because Kai Cenat’s house is fairly large, the police asked the residents to remain outside so they could complete their investigation. The police eventually let Kai back into his home where he continued his Mafiathon 2 stream.
The official Mafiathon 2 trailer revealed the marathon stream would continue through November 30, 2024. Since this temporary stop happened on just the second day, it likely won’t affect Kai Cenat’s goal to overtake Ironmouse and become the most-subscribed Twitch streamer once again.
Even though it hadn’t been long since the stream started when the swatting occurred, the streamer announced on X that he hit the 140,000 subscribers mark already. While he has a long way to go until he catches up to Ironmouse, Kai’s subscriber count continues to shoot up.
