VTuber Ironmouse has become the most-subscribed streamer on Twitch but Kai Cenat has plans to take back his record.
There have been multiple popular streamers with the most subs on Twitch over the years, including popular influencers like Tyler “Ninja” Blevins and Ludwig Ahgren. The former became the most subscribed streamer in the world when he held his innovative subathon and he held it until Kai Cenat took the title in 2023 and went on to break almost every record in the book.
It seemed like Cenat’s record was going to be tough to beat. One of the top candidates to do so was North American VTuber Ironmouse, and she pulled off the feat on September 30, 2024. If Cenat has anything to say about it though, she won’t have the record for long.
How many subscribers does Ironmouse have?
Ironmouse peaked as high as 321,570 subscribers during her September 2024 subathon, breaking Kai Cenat’s record.
She announced the subathon in June, saying it would start in September and focus on “having a good time,” not breaking any records. But she said she will honor overtime “up to a week,” with 10 seconds added for every sub. Despite not looking to break any records, Ironmouse did just that, and in a huge way.
Ironmouse’s subathons have previously propelled her to incredible subscriber counts. She became the most-subscribed woman in Twitch history in 2022 by hitting over 170,000 subscribers with her first subathon. From there, she held another subathon in 2023 that cleared over 200,000 subscribers. While that was a comparatively modest gain, her 2024 subathon rocketed her to the record.
Kai Cenat reacts to Ironmouse sub record on Twitch
Kai Cenat congratulated Ironmouse breaking his subscription record but suggested he will take it back before long.
Kai Cenat was quick to acknowledge Ironmouse beating his previous record, which was 306,621 at its highest and currently sits at nearly 97,500. But after congratulating the VTuber for the feat and telling his fans to “clap it up” he said he’s coming for the record.
“I promised one thing to my supporters if that was broken…So we’re gonna have to see what happens in the future,” Kai Cenat said.
Kai Cenat didn’t specify what will happen “in the future” but fans are thinking that the only way he can take that record back from the Vshojo streamer is with another subathon. Going from 97,500 to over 320,700 is a big feat but if anyone can take back the all-time sub record, it’s Kai Cenat.
Recently, Kai Cenat has held record-breaking streams with incredible viewership, including ones featuring celebrities like Ice Spice and Kevin Hart as well as gaming sessions, like taking on Elden Ring DLC and Minecraft’s Hardcore Mode.
Fans are rooting him to take back his record, calling out Ironmouse for beating him during SUBtember, a Twitch event where the platform will match subs. They argue that this made it easier for Ironmouse to surpass Kai Cenat but that still doesn’t mean it’ll be easy to dethrone the Demon Queen. Kai Cenat will have to plan something big for his subathon, which hopefully won’t have as much controversy as some of his events in the past.
