As its exclusivity period with Playstation comes to a close, ZZZ has finally been confirmed for an Xbox port in 2025.
The latest game from developer miHoYo, Zenless Zone Zero has quickly gained popularity for its unique aesthetic compared to previous HoYoverse titles. Set in an urban fantasy world full of dark forces and criminal gangs, ZZZ has already captured the hearts of millions of players. Unfortunately, not every HoYoverse fan got to play ZZZ upon its original launch.

Sony struck a timed exclusivity deal with miHoYo for ZZZ, meaning Xbox and Switch players could not enjoy the latest gacha action sensation. The decision was unpopular among many fans, especially those who played exclusively on the affected consoles: the Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Xbox. Months have passed since ZZZ’s initial release, and the exclusivity period reached its end in early 2025. Fans are wondering if that means ZZZ is coming to Xbox very soon.
Is ZZZ on Xbox?
miHoYo has confirmed that ZZZ will arrive for Xbox soon in 2025. The official Twitter/X account for ZZZ announced a new Zenless Zone Zero Xbox Spotlight. The ZZZ Xbox Spotlight will take place on April 11 at 10 AM PDT. The event will reportedly reveal the game’s official release date and other “exciting” updates. The account then urged players to keep an eye on official channels for the live stream of the event
Xbox has often been late to the party on miHoYo games. Genshin Impact, arguably the biggest Hoyoverse game, didn’t arrive on Xbox consoles until November 20, 2024. The fantasy gacha game was also available on Game Pass, which offered exclusive content to Xbox players. ZZZ will likely feature similar exclusive content for Xbox to better encourage players to try it out on its newewst platform.
miHoYo remains open to partnership with Nintendo
miHoYo purportedly wants its games on Nintendo but has yet to release any titles on modern consoles. In January 2020, miHoYo announced that Genshin Impact would come “soon” to the Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately for Switch players, miHoYo has not given any significant updates about the Switch port since then. Despite the lack of updates, developers have remained open to the idea of a port.
ZZZ producer Zhenyu Li has specifically said that the door remains open for a Nintendo port. According to the developer, it is working to improve the quality of each platform’s release, and this may have played a role in miHoYo’s absence from Switch platforms.
The OG Switch may have proved underpowered for miHoYo’s games. Even if it could theoretically run Genshin Impact, poor performance was something that the developers may not have wanted to risk. With the Switch 2’s release imminent, miHoYo may finally port something to a Nintendo console, but fans will still have to wait for that confirmation to come through.
Fans also want to see more miHoYo games come to Xbox, such as the Honkai series. Despite the exclusivity period ending with Sony, it doesn’t necessarily guarantee a port. After all, publishers may feel a port is too much work for what could be a relatively smaller player base. Fans will just have to wait for more details via official miHoYo events like the upcoming ZZZ Xbox Spotlight.
