GTA 6 might have had one of its songs leaked online, hinting at some of the different styles of music fans can expect in the game.
Grand Theft Auto 6 and Rockstar Games have been at the center of some of the wildest leaks in the video game industry’s history, ranging from standard-issue data mining to full source code leaks to actual “my uncle works at Rockstar” being proven true with unreleased footage getting posted on social media. The latest leak is a relatively tame one, with a classic song being inexplicably GTA 6-branded.
The song “Ring My Bell” by Anita Ward was seen on a Spotify playlist called “Disco” with the GTA 6 logo as its cover which was taken down soon after being uploaded. Now, many are wondering about its connection to the upcoming game and if it will be on the official soundtrack.
GTA 6’s music likely coming from a mix of genres, real-life artists
GTA 6 has been in development for eight years now, and with the older titles having some banger tunes, the soundtrack for the latest installment could be just as rad.
In the past, GTA 5 has featured many songs from the 1970s, ’80s, ’90s, and early 2000s across its strip clubs, radio stations, and even home radios in GTA Online that players can find in their garages. With the map being even bigger in the sixth game, having an epic soundtrack is the expectation among fans.
The Spofity playlist image leak doesn’t share what else might be on the upcoming soundtrack, but the fact that it was uploaded and deleted soon afterward suggests it was a leak of some of the music coming in GTA 6.
Confirmed songs for GTA 6
No songs have been confirmed for GTA 6’s soundtrack but knowing Rockstar, it will feature a long list of high-profile artists.
GTA 5 had over 441 different songs in its soundtrack and a total of 16 different radio stations that players can access through their car’s radio. There are a number of different stations that play a specific genre of music including rock, pop, rap, and many more. As for GTA 6, there isn’t any official confirmation for what songs will be in the game.
“Love is a Long Road” by Tom Petty, which was in the first trailer, is a safe bet to appear in some way. Anita Ward’s “Ring My Bell” is also likely, barring an extremely strange mix-up. Fans can safely assume that there will be a classic rock and disco station based on these songs. The sixth GTA game is scheduled to be released in 2025 for only a couple of different platforms, so there is hope for getting more information on the soundtrack later this year.
