The teaser featured at the end of the 2.4 Special Program confirmed that the Honkai: Star Rail x Fate/Stay Night collab is real and it’s coming, but its release date isn’t necessarily soon.
The stream aired on July 19, 2024, and featured the regular announcer and host of Honkai: Star Rail Special Program events. At the end of the stream, Owlbert announced that there would be an Honkai: Star Rail x Fate/Stay Night collaboration. The trailer then showed logos of both series on the screen, delighting fans of the two iconic series.
It further explained that Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works will be joining up with Honkai. The anime, which is streaming on Crunchyroll right now, is a direct adaptation of the visual novel.
What is the release date for the Honkai: Star Rail x Fate/Stay Night collab?
The Honkai: Star Rail x Fate/Stay Night collab will be released in Q3 2025. No specific release dates were announced during the Stream or on the official X account.
Honkai: Star Rail is no stranger to collaborations. Previously, the game has collaborated with unconventional partners like restaurant chains including KFC, Wendy’s, Domino’s Pizza, and Miss Millie’s across the globe. The game has also been teamed with a convenience store and a beauty brand. Because of this, Fate/Stay Night is technically less of a surprise than past Honkai: Star Rail collaborations.
No further details were given about the nature of the collaboration. That’s likely in large part because it’s not happening any time soon.
The release date for the Honkai: Star Rail x Fate/Stay Night event is more than a year away, so HoYoverse has plenty of time to cook up something big. The other popular gacha property from HoYoverse, Genshin Impact, has its fair share of collaborations as well. The game has had many events, from Cadillac to Duolingo and Pizza Hut to Samsung.
What will be in the HSR and FSN Collaboration?
Owlbert did not spill any official details on the Special Program stream, and the official X handle only announced the collaboration.
Fate/Stay Night follows Shirou Emiya, a student in Japan who is thrust into the Fifth Holy Grail War. The war is a battle royale for the Holy Grail, a magical chalice that grants any wish.
Past collabs for Honkai: Star Rail and Genshin Impact have been largely centered around physical merchandise, sometimes with an in-game tie-in. Aloy from PlayStation’s Horizon series becoming a playable character in Genshin Impact suggests that characters could make the jump between the two properties, though. Fans will simply have to wait until closer to the actual release date of the Honkai: Star Rail x Fate/Stay Night collab.
