Following a major Netflix breach, hackers leaked Arcane Season 2 online and major spoilers are now available
Arcane Season 2, now dubbed “Arcane: Strife,” debuts on November 2 as the second and final season of Arcane. However, the first five episodes of the show were leaked on August 8. The episodes aren’t all completely finished, which has sparked debates over whether it’s something to watch now or wait on.
Those who did watch now have answers to some of the key questions of the first season; including the identities of the survivors of Jinx’s attack and Singed’s mysterious furry friend. For those interested in spoilers, read on to find out our key takeaways from the Arcane Season 2 leaks.
Who survived the Arcane Season 1 cliffhanger?
Caitlyn’s mother and Viktor are the biggest casualties of Jinx’s attack on the Piltover council chambers.
Jinx’s attack on the council left many wondering about the resulting casualties, and the Arcane Season 2 leak reveals who made it out.
Jayce and Mel Medarda both survive the attack, though several minor council members including Caitlin’s mother do not. The speculation after Arcane Season 1 was that Mel would die for narrative reasons. Riot Games itself spoiled that she’d survive into Arcane Season 2. Though her dying still makes narrative sense, it doesn’t happen through episode five.
Viktor dies in the initial attack. Jayce betrays his vow and uses the Hexcore to save Viktor’s life, but things don’t go back to normal. Viktor is now a human-hextech cyborg who leaves Piltover to use his newfound power to help heal the sick. However, the season seems to be setting him up as Jayce’s new antagonist to match his League of Legends persona.
Riot Games is confirmed to be working on a VGU for Viktor in League of Legends. Arcane Season 2 will likely establish what this new version of the character looks and sounds like.
Arcane Season 2 spoilers confirm that Warwick is a revived Vander
The Arcane Season 2 leak confirmed that Warwick is Vander, the adoptive father of Jinx and Vi.
The pre-credits scenes in the first few episodes show Singed experimenting with Zaunite chemicals on Warwick to empower him and keep him alive. This is consistent with the League of Legends champion description as an experiment gone wrong. Arcane Season 2 reveals that Warwick is indeed a resurrected Vander.
Warwick is mostly shown as a rampaging beast, but he retains a bit of his humanity. He vaguely recognizes and responds to Vi and Jinx. Because only the first five episodes of Arcane Season 2 have leaked, it’s unclear how this story arc will pan out.
Jinx is becoming the new Silco
Jinx becomes a hero of Zaun in Arcane Season 2 much like Silco, for better or worse.
Silco was one of the most complex and interesting characters in Arcane Season 1, and Jinx ends up inhabiting that same niche. Instead of becoming the purely violent and chaotic character she seemed to be becoming, the Arcane Season 2 leaks show her as having the same folk hero status as Silco despite being more of a loose cannon.
Despite these season 2 leaks, there are still many open questions waiting to be resolved. Fans will have to tune into the full show to see how the story pans out from here.
