World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold has revealed he pays a ton in taxes, giving fans a general idea of how much he makes.
Asmongold has become quite a controversial figure in the streaming world for his harsh opinions and questionable life choices. Despite becoming quite wealthy, fans have been taken aback by his lifestyle, seemingly living in squalor. He has discussed in the past a struggle to maintain a work-life balance as a streamer.
Regardless, the popular Twitch personality is evidently raking it in. He discussed paying significant amounts of taxes, but saying that he feels he ought to pay more.
How much does Asmongold pay in taxes?
Asmongold stated that he pays an undisclosed seven-figure sum in taxes each year. The exact figure wasn’t disclosed but it led to fans wondering just how much Asmongold makes from streaming.
During a stream, Asmongold told his chat that he actually pays an astonishing “seven figures” in taxes every year. He didn’t say the exact amount but said it was “a lot of money” repeatedly. Fans were shocked to find out that he paid that much but Asmongold surprised them even after.
“I pay seven figures in taxes every year – I pay a lot, a lot of money in taxesTo be honest with you guys, I think it should be more,” Asmongold said.
Why more? Asmongold explained that he grew up living in poverty with his mother, who was on food stamps. Even though his family was struggling, he says he was “getting paid by the government” to grind World of Warcraft, which eventually led him to his career. Due to the government providing so much to less fortunate families, Asmongold was able to pursue his dream of gaming professionally.
How much does Asmongold make?
Asmongold makes a multi-million dollar amount of money for streaming each year, though the exact figure is unclear. The streamer states he lives in Texas and the estimated pre-tax income to hit $1 million combined between state and federal taxes would be around $3 million, though he could make considerably more.
Asmongold currently has three Twitch channels all of which have plenty of followers. His actual net worth and earnings are unknown but there are a few clues.
Three years ago, Asmongold had his Twitch earnings leaked alongside other massive names like Felix “xQc” Lengyel. He was 14th on the list, earning a reported $2.5 million from Twitch subscriptions, ad revenue, and bit donations alone between 2019 to 2021.
The OTK Network streamer admitted at the time that he doesn’t really check how much he makes but assumes it’s “not wildly inaccurate.”
Earlier this year, Asmongold went over how much he spends every month after being asked by a fan. He claimed to only spend $2,600 a month not counting “random s—” he buys. It’s unclear how much money he puts away into savings and other investments.
