Every playthrough of Stardew Valley 1.6 differs for each player, but with the right world seed, those experiences can start much easier.
As with any farming sim, resources are king in Stardew Valley. Although the recent Stardew Valley 1.6 update has tweaked the game to have a more engaging early game, players still have quite the grind ahead. However, there’s a way for players to manipulate the world while creating a new save.
World seeds are data strings that affect the world state in Stardew Valley. These change how often certain events, item drops, artifacts, and other RNG-related instances occur. For example, one World Seed may guarantee a Crop Fairy spawn while another ensures frequent rain in the first season. Players can affect this, which allows them to get a stronger start during a fresh save.

How to change world seeds in Stardew Valley 1.6
Players can change world seeds through the Advanced Options menu when creating a new farm. Here are the steps to changing the world seed in Stardew Valley 1.6:
- Open Stardew Valley
- Select New
- Click on the wrench icon in the lower-left corner of the menu
- Do NOT tick any boxes
- Scroll down to Random Seed
- Type in the world seed
- Select OK
- Start the new save
As for why players shouldn’t tick any boxes, it’s because they will override the random seed’s effects. World seeds, especially for avid replayers of Stardew Valley, can make the beginning journey much easier without relying on mods to fiddle with the settings.
The best world seeds for Stardew Valley 1.6
The best Stardew Valley world seed might vary depending on how the player might want to approach the game. However, there are several strong options that offer faster progression when farming, rare items in the traveling cart, and so on.
Here’s a list of the best world seeds in Stardew Valley 1.6 right now:
Three Crop Fairies – 386531132
In Spring Year 1, this world seed will spawn three world fairies within two weeks. The fairy will spawn on Spring Day 5, 9 and 11. In addition, the windstorm may knock down the big tree in Cindersap Forest.
The Crop Fairy will magically make any crops planted grow instantly. Players should focus on planting their most expensive crops that take the longest to cultivate.
Rainy Spring – 383972325
This seed guarantees a stormy Spring; nine days worth, to be exact. providing players with ample watering-free days. Considering how much of a chore early-game crop farming is, it’s fantastic.
Plus, the rain also makes catfish spawn, a must for fishing completionists. Other boons from this seed include an amethyst in the Mayor’s Trash and an artifact near Marnie’s on Day 1.
Rare Meteor Event – 309181356
Meteors are one of the rarest events in Stardew Valley. A meteor event only has a 1% chance of occurring on any given day. However, this world seed guarantees at least one meteor event towards the end of Year One.
These meteorites grant the almighty Iridium Ore, one of the core late-game materials, and a low chance of spawning a Prismatic Shard. Early-game Iridium tools can make the next year a total breeze for many players.
Ancient Seed and Fairy – 378045676
On the very first day, this world seed has a chance of spawning the Ancient Seed artifact in front of Robin’s house. However, Stardew Valley content creator Phil Chill reported that it is a bit random, so players may have to reload the seed from the start a few times. Thankfully, first-day spawn means it’s not too hard to force.
However, the Crop Fairy visit is guaranteed on the 11th day of Spring. Once the player hands over the Ancient Seed to the museum, they get their first batch of Ancient Seeds. The player can plant these on Spring Day 10 and immediately have Ancient Fruit the day after thanks to the Crop Fairy.
Community Center Speedrun – 203853655
The Community Center is one of the first major goals a player has in making the town come to life. This world seed helps the player along with that goal significantly, as it guarantees Bundle ingredients to pop up on the Traveling Cart throughout the year.
- Spring 5 – Duck Feather
- Spring 21 – Large Goat Milk
- Summer 12 – Nautilus Shell, Truffle Oil
- Summer 21 – Rabbit’s Foot, Tiger Trout, Sturgeon
- Fall 12 – Red Cabbage
- Fall 14 – Large Egg, Crab
- Winter 14 – Rabbit’s Foot, Truffle, Large Milk
- Winter 26 – Coffee Bean, Cloth, Solar Essence
However, do note this will still cost quite a bit of gold, so a player’s other goals may have to sit by the wayside. Even so, the benefits of a fully functional Community Center may be worth it for some players.
