The best support classes & weapons in Throne and Liberty

throne and liberty support

No party is complete without a support, as they can keep everyone topped up and alive. But in Throne and Liberty, support weapon combinations are vitally important as different combinations offer different bonuses; but which is best?

A party without a support is a dead party. A tank with a wand secondary can only do so much healing for everybody. Because of this, it’s much preferable to have someone specialized in that role using the optimal weapon combination.

So, which weapon combinations are the best ones for support players?

Best support classes in Throne and Liberty

Support classes in Throne and Liberty will often wield a wand and combine it with either a staff or a bow.

The wand is a staple weapon for support classes as this is the only weapon in the game that allows players to heal their party. Some weapons in the game allow players to buff their party, but only wands allow players to become a consistent source of healing to keep the whole party alive.

Wand + staff support

Support players who pair their wands with a staff can become an endless source of mana, which in turn makes them an endless source of healing.

What makes wand and staff players pick this combination is the amount of mana this build has. Skills like Inner Peace increase the player’s mana regeneration rate as well as mana cost efficiency. This means that the player will be able to quickly regain the mana they lose as they cast their spells.

High Focus, another skill found in the staff skill set, lowers the cooldown of all their skills. This allows supports to spam more healing abilities whenever they want. This build also offers the ability to use more offensive skills.

Since the staff is primarily a high-damage weapon, support players who opted for this combination can cast area-of-effect spells that can clear waves of trash mobs. This makes them a preferred combination for support players who still want to deal a noteworthy amount of damage.

Wand + longbow support

In Throne and Liberty, the wand and longbow supports are the equivalent of a full support build in other MMOs which trades damage for overall utility.

Players who want to play a much more supportive role should go for the wand and longbow weapon combination. This combination allows players to carry more buffs and utility at the expense of the offensive spells that the wand and staff weapon combination have.

One of the main reasons to take this weapon combination is the longbow’s access to Purifying Touch. Purifying Touch is the only skill in the game that cures a crowd control effect on a player.

For example, if a player gets stunned, a simple cast of Purifying Touch will remove the stun and allow them to move around. This isn’t just useful in dungeons as it’s also very helpful in player-vs-player environments if the player is quick.

The longbow also has access to Deadly Marker which is a buff that gives the whole party cooldown reduction. Making the wand and longbow the ultimate support combination. However, as mentioned earlier, this build sacrifices damage. So don’t expect to deal as much damage as the staff variant as the main job of a wand and longbow support is to boost the whole party’s effectiveness with their buffs. Still, Throne and Liberty support players get a lot of value out of this build.
