Rebellion has confirmed the Atomfall release date with a new trailer, which the official Xbox YouTube channel has also featured to spread the word.
Atomfall is a survival game set in 1960s England. The story veers off from reality right after the Windscale fire, the most significant nuclear accident in British history. The game has striking similarities to another nuclear disaster game: the famous Fallout. Atomfall’s destruction is more minor, limited to the area surrounding the disastrous atomic plant, now known as Sellafield.
With no signs of the next Fallout game, fans of post-nuclear disaster titles now have something new to look forward to in Atomfall. Thankfully, eager fans won’t have to wait too long as the game launches early in 2025.
What is the Atomfall release date?
The Atomfall release date will fall on March 27, 2025, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
The post-nuclear game is also releasing on last-generation consoles. Whether the game will offer extra visual bells and whistles on current-generation consoles remains to be seen. The PC-specific features haven’t been announced yet, but gamers can expect more customization options on the platform. The game is launching on Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store, confirming no platform exclusivity. Additionally, the title will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
Rebellion, the studio behind the Sniper Elite and Zombie Army series, is the developer behind Atomfall. The slower, more exploration-based gameplay strays from the studio’s usual high-octane action formula. This new creation aims to challenge players with its nuclear disaster fallout and its conspiracy theories.
Is Atomfall available for preorder?
Yes, Atomfall is ready for preorder purchases on all supported platforms for $60.
The standard edition is launching at a price point of $60 across all platforms. On PlayStation, Atomfall is available as a single purchase for both PlayStation 4 and 5. Whether the game supports PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Pro enhancements is yet to be announced. Over at the Xbox site, the game is listed as being “optimized for Xbox Series X/S” consoles.
The Atomfall Deluxe edition is only available digitally for $80. This more expensive edition will come with the “Enhanced Supply Bundle,” which contains an exclusive pistol, a metal detector skin, and character upgrades. The Atomfall Deluxe edition will give three days’ early access to the game and the upcoming story expansion.
