The release date of Baki-Dou Season 2, and fans of the manga already know what will happen in the anime.
Baki-Dou Season 1 landed with a splash, exciting established fans and newcomers with its high-stakes action. Stakes are often rare in long-running anime and manga series, but the tragic death of Sea King Retsu adds serious weight to every interaction he has with established members of the cast.
That’s not going to slow down next season, but some fans might want to brace themselves for what’s to come. Here’s when Baki-Dou season 2 comes out, and what will happen.
Baki-Dou Season 2 release date confirmed
Baki-Dou Season 2 is confirmed to launch on June 18, 2026. As with most Netflix anime releases, the full series will be released on day one.
The quick turnaround between seasons is a welcome surprise for Baki fans. There were almost two full years separating Baki Hanma Seasons 1 and 2, with the first season arriving in September 2021 while the second didn’t arrive until July 2023. By comparison, Baki-Dou Season 2 will come out just four months after season one.
Baki-Dou Season 1 covered exactly half of 2014’s Baki-Dou manga. The first season ran through chapter 99 of the 198-chapter manga series. This makes it extremely likely that the second season will run through the end of the original Baki-Dou. If so, fans can look forward to some of the most exciting fights in the history of the Baki franchise.
What fights will happen in Baki-Dou Season 2?
The second season will feature a series of fights, all involving Miyamoto Musashi. While the last major scrap of the first season was between Jack Hanma and Izou Motobe, the focus shifts back to Musashi from there.
The first season wrapped with the tease of a showdown between Musashi and Pickle, and that fight will kick things off. Here is the full lineup of fights to look forward to:
- Miyamoto Musashi vs. Pickle
- Miyamoto Musashi vs. Izou Motobe
- Miyamoto Musashi vs. Kaoru Hanayama
- Miyamoto Musashi vs. Baki Hanma
Sandwiched between these fights is a scrap with Gaia and a showdown between Musashi and the Japanese Self-Defense Force. Both compare and contrast the nature of modern warfare with how things were done in the days of the samurai.
The fact that Miyamoto Musashi permanently killed a major character in Sea King Retsu adds a great deal of intrigue to his next series of fights. What’s more, these are among the goriest fights in all of Baki media. Fans can expect an absolute blood bath in Baki-Dou Season 2.
While Baki-Dou Season 2 will likely finish adapting the manga series it’s based on, shonen anime fans don’t have to worry. There’s plenty more Baki manga for TMS Entertainment to work with.
