Halloween is gone but Dead by Daylight continues forward by bringing back a classic campy horror character in Chucky.
Dead by Daylight, the multiplayer survival horror game developed by Canadian studio Behaviour Interactive, has been going strong since 2016. The concept of the game is simple, with one player controlling a rampaging monster while everyone else tries to survive. The game has been kept alive thanks in part to its ability to obtain the rights to video game villains like Silent Hill 2’s Pyramid Head to film icons like Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street.
With an extremely strong fanbase and frequent updates, many people look forward to which new killer they’ll see next in the game. The next one is from a 1980s horror classic; Chucky from Child’s Play.
Who is the next killer coming to Dead by Daylight?
The next killer to join the Dead by Daylight universe is Chucky the serial-killing doll from the Child’s Play series.
Dead by Daylight developer Behavior Interactive teased the next killer, showing a filled knife rack with a single knife missing a few days before the announcement. Many quickly assumed it would be Chucky, whose go-to method for killing people was a kitchen knife. There was still some doubt, but the studio made things official.
This is the second huge crossover the game has gotten this month, as just some days before the Chucky crossover announcement, it was confirmed that a Stranger Things crossover is coming to the game. Though there are always new horror games, Dead by Daylight fans can once again enjoy a fresh experience.
When will the Chucky come out in Dead by Daylight?
Chucky will be available to play in Dead by Daylight as a killer starting on November 28.
More information was also released alongside the teaser trailer. Thanks to his short stature, Chucky will excel at sneaking around the map and catching the survivors by surprise as opposed to chasing them down like some other killers in the game. He’ll have a few different attacks to choose from, including a lunging stab, an assist from Charles Lee Ray’s spirit, and a move that lets him bypass windows and pallets.
Chucky should be a unique killer based on this. Compared to hulking figures like Nemesis from Resident Evil or Michael Meyers, he’s positioned to deliver plenty of jumpscares to any survivor players he’s up against.
For hardcore Chucky fans, it’ll also be possible to customize Chucky, with one outfit in particular resembling Bride of Chucky’s Tiffany Valentine. If that wasn’t enough, Tiffany will be voiced by Jennifer Tilly, just like in the movies.
