Elden Ring: All Nagakiba locations and full Yura questline guide

yura elden ring

Getting the Nagakiba can be a key moment in an Elden Ring playthrough, but finding its actual location isn’t particularly easy thanks to the obscure questline of Bloody Finger Hunter Yura.

Katanas are really strong in Elden Ring. The Rivers of Blood was long a blight on the PvP experience, and remains the best main weapon for bleed builds. Meanwhile, the Moonveil can instantly turn a lifelong wizard into a hard-hitting melee threat. The Nagakiba is particularly nice among katanas though, as it can hypothetically fit into any build. It’s also made distinct from the standard Uchigatana thanks to its long reach.

So how can players get this weapon? Well, as quickly or as slowly as the player wants.

Every possible Nagakiba location in Elden Ring

The Nagakiba can be looted after defeating Yura or can be found in his last location after his questline is broken. The location of the Nagakiba technically changes as players progress through Bloody Finger Hunter Yura’s questline. Regardless, the only way to get it is by taking it after he dies.

If players do not properly follow his questline, Yura will die off-screen and the Nagakiba can be found at the last location where they encountered him. Yura’s questline ends if players discover certain locations before advancing his questline past required thresholds.

Because of this, there are four possible locations where the Nagakiba can be found after Yura’s death:

  • Yura’s camp in Limgrave, south of Agheel Lake
  • Near the Bloody Finger Nerijus invasion south of Murkwater Cave
  • On the broken bridge northeast of the Main Academy Gate site of grace
  • In the Second Church of Marika on the Altus Plateau

Yura’s questline is a long one and it’s one of the most easily missable pieces of content in Elden Ring and its DLC. Players can get the Nagakiba freely at any point during his questline by defeating him.

Full Bloody Finger Hunter Yura questline, rewards

Players can initiate Yura’s questline by talking to him at his camp south of Flying Dragon Agheel, or by meeting him near Murkwater Cave.

Here is the step-by-step breakdown of how to complete his questline:

  1. Meet Yura at his camp in Limgrave
  2. Fight Bloody Finger Nerijus near Murkwater Cave
  3. Talk with Yura after the fight
  4. Assist Yura in invading Bloody Finger Ravenmount Assassin near Raya Lucaria Academy
  5. Talk to Yura after defeating Bloody Finger Ravenmount Assassin
  6. Talk to Yura near the Second Church of Marika on the Altus Plateau

If players advance to the next region beyond Yura’s current location without finishing the necessary steps, his questline will end and the Nagakiba will be found on the ground in Yura’s last-known location.

Players must complete steps one through three before reaching Raya Lucaria, and must finish steps four and five before reaching the Altus Plateau. If players discover the Grand Lift of Rold, he is permanently gone. Even if Yura’s questline is broken, the Nagakiba can be found at the last location where players spoke with him.

Meet Yura in Limgrave

Most players will first find Yura as a white phantom in Limgrave who assists them during a fight against Bloody Finger Nerijus. Players must talk to him after this fight in order to properly start his questline.

As players approach the Murkwater cave, they will be invaded by an NPC named Bloody Finger Nerijus. Shortly after, Bloody Finger Hunter Yura will also join the fight as a white phantom.

After Nerijus is defeated, Yura can be found along the path on the eastern side of the canyon. Yura will move to a new location after the player leaves, and he’ll take the Nagakiba with him. If players want to complete Yura’s questline, the Nagakiba is given as a reward. But the fastest way of getting the Nagakiba is killing Yura in the first location players encounter him.

Help Yura against Bloody Finger Ravenmount Assassin

After beating Nerijus, Yura will move to Liurnia and can be found through a red summon sign northeast of the Main Academy Gate site of grace. Simply walk up the broken bridge northeast of the site of grace and the red summon sign can be found on the ground. After completing the invasion, players will receive the Raptor of the Mist Ash of War.

Talk with Yura at Second Church of Marika; final Nagakiba location

Yura’s final location is the Second Church of Marika, and this is where players will ultimately get the Nagakiba from him. He is found on the ground, dying. Talking to him will get players the Nagakiba before they are invaded by Eleonora, Violet Bloody Finger.

Defeating Eleonora will get the player Eleonora’s Poleblade and the Purifying Crystal Tear.

All Bloody Finger Hunter Yura questline rewards

Players will receive the following items by completing Bloody Finger Hunter Yura’s questline:

  • Nagakiba
  • Reduvia
  • Ash of War: Raptor of the Mist
  • Smithing Stone [5]
  • Eleonora’s Poleblade
  • Purifying Crystal Tear

Almost all of these items can be obtained without following Yura’s questline. The lone exception is the Ash of War: Raptor of the Mist, which is exclusively available through Yura’s questline.

Players can simply kill Yura as soon as they meet him to get the Nagakiba without tracking his location across Elden Ring’s early and mid-game. The Reduvia dagger and Eleonora’s Poleblade can be found without advancing Yura’s questline.

How to get Yura’s armor set in Elden Ring

Players can get Yura’s armor by defeating him after he is possessed by Shabriri.

After Yura’s death, he will be possessed by the spirit of Shabriri in one of Elden Ring’s weirder story moments. Players can find him near the Zamor Ruins site of grace on the Mountaintops of the Giants. Though he has the same appearance as Yura, he will drop everything related to hunting Bloody Fingers and will instead push the player to let “chaos take the world.”

Players can kill Shabriri to get Yura’s armor set. Alternatively, after meeting him, they can find the Three Fingers beneath Leyndell. The armor will be found on the ground in his previous location.
