Where to find Rivers of Blood in Elden Ring

elden ring malenia vs radahn

Rivers of Blood is an iconic weapon in Elden Ring due to its appearance and stats, so here’s how to get that armament.

As most bosses in the base game and Shadow of the Erdtreee DLC are weak to bleed, Rivers of Blood is one of the most sought-after weapons in the game. Whether it be thanks to the fact that the Rivers of Blood has excellent bleed potential or because the streamer Kai Cenat used the katana, many players want to get their hands on the weapon. Luckily, obtaining Rivers of Blood is easy as most players will likely find it as they naturally progress through the story.

However, the weapon is relatively late and requires players to defeat a specific invader before they can get their hands on it.

How to reach Mountaintop of the Giants in Elden Ring

Players can reach the Mountop of the Giants area by hoisting the Rold Medallion in front of the Grand Lift of Rold.

Not to be mistaken for the Dectus Medallion required to reach Atlus Plateau, the Rold Medallion is given after defeating Morgott, the Omen King in Leyndell. The tarnished find themselves failing in their attempt to commune with the Golden Order, and resting in a site of grace then talking with Melina gives them the Medallion required to reach the Mountaintop of the Giants.

Medallion in hand, players can climb the stairs from the Avenue Balcony site of grace and turn left to eventually get to an elevator that was unusable before defeating Morgott. Players can now get to the Grand Lift of Rold by going northeast from Leyndell and past the Forbidden Lands, where they can activate the lift by hoisting the Rold Medallion when given the prompt.

Where is Rivers of Blood located in Elden Ring?

Rivers of Blood is located near the Church of Repose on the east side of the Mountaintops of the Giants.

Follow the arrows shown by every site of grace after getting out of the Grand Lift of Rold and reaching the Mountaintops of the Giants. Ride along the route on the south side of the frozen lake which leads to a long bridge with the Giant’s Gravepost site of grace at the end.

After making it to the Giant’s Gravepost site of grace, there are only a few steps left before getting to where Rivers of Blood is located. A small structure will be on the southwest corner of the area near the Church of Repose. Go to that small structure and an NPC named Bloody Finger Okina will invade. After that, all that’s left to do is defeat the NPC and get the Rivers of Blood katana, which is considered one of the most broken weapons in Elden Ring.

How to cheese Bloody Finger Okina in Elden Ring

The only thing the player must do to defeat Bloody Finger Okina is to keep attacking him from high ground.

Bloody Finger Okina can deal massive amounts of damage and cause blood loss. However, his wide swings and slow movements make it easy to dodge his attacks. Dodge his hits, look for an opening, then attack as aggressively as possible. Keep attacking so Okina cannot fight back or drink his flask.

Church of Repose

If the player has a build that allows them to use ranged attacks, they can cheese the invader fight. Climb on top of the church walls and start attacking him with long-ranged moves. Since he only uses his Rivers of Blood sword, he cannot do anything to the player while they’re camping on high ground.
