In the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, Count Ymir’s questline tasks the player with finding the hidden Finger Ruins of Rhia, Dheo, and Miyr, which can be daunting if players don’t know their locations in advance. If they do, it’s light work.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree introduces a handful of new NPCs for players to feel bad about killing or watching die. Almost every DLC-exclusive NPC has a questline. Some are short, like the Hornsent Grandam, while others barely even qualify as a questline, like martial arts master Dryleaf Dane. But others are a lengthy, involved process. Count Ymir of the Cathedral of Manus Metyr falls into the lattermost category. Ymir sends the players on a quest to locate and sound a bell in Finger Ruins locations across the Land of Shadows.
The problem is that the ruins are relatively hidden and even then, the method for entering them isn’t always obvious. Here’s how players can find all three Finger Ruins in the Elden Ring DLC and the reward for sounding the bell in each one.
Where to find all Finger Ruins in the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC
There are three Finger Ruins to find in the Land of Shadows, and all three have giant bells players can interact with. Sounding two bells grants players two unique talismans, while the third initiates a boss fight against a ghastly remembrance boss.
Finger Ruins of Rhia location in the Elden Ring DLC
The Finger Ruins of Rhia are found on the east side of the Cerulean Coast area, reachable by following the Ellac River.
Players should start heading south after reaching the Cerulean Coast, past the Ghostflame Dragon and map fragment. When the path splits into two, go left toward the Cerulean Coast Cross Site of Grace. Start going north just before reaching the cross to reach the top of a cliff, where the player should drop down to the Cerulean Coast’s shoreline area.
Continue riding Torrent across the shoreline until the end of the path where the player must climb a beached ship that is partly sunken into the ground. The deck leads to a plateau that continues the path toward the Finger Ruins of Rhia.
Here, players should continue to the central part of the ruins until they see a large bell. Stand near it to get the prompt to “Sound the Hanging Bell,” getting a Crimson Seed Talisman +1 and completing this part of Count Ymir’s quest in the process.
Finger Ruins of Dheo in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
The Finger Ruins of Dheo are in the northeastern peninsula of the map, reachable by taking the Shadow Keep Back Gate secret path.
Speaking with Count Ymir after sounding the first bell will prompt him to give the player the map for another ruin and a Beloved Stardust. In order to find the Finger Ruins of Dheo, players need to get the “O’ Mother” gesture.
Players can find the O’Mother gesture near the Bonny Village site of grace. Travel to the Bonny Village site of grace and head north until reaching a white tree with a corpse under it. Interact with the corpse to get the O’ Mother gesture.
With the gesture in hand, go back to the Church District Highroad Site of Grace. This time, instead of going southwest toward the Cathedral of Manus Metyr, the player should take the other path that eventually leads to the Shadow Keep Church District. Progress through this sunken area and take the elevator at the end to go up to the Shadow Keep’s Specimen Storehouse.
Interact with the Specimen Storehouse, Back Section site of grace. Follow the path up the Shadow Keep. After following the route past the Storehouse, Loft site of grace, the player will find an elevator going down instead of up. Following the path after the elevator leads to another elevator taking the player to the Shadow Keep, Back Gate site of grace.
Instead of continuing forward to start Commander Gaius’ boss fight, turn right into a room with a large statue. Perform the “O’ Mother” gesture acquired in Bonny Village to open up a secret path leading to the beautiful Scaduview area. Now, head east past the two Tree Sentinels and across the large bridge to reach Fingerstone Hills.
Continuing east from here leads to the Finger Ruins of Dheo. Like the previous ruins, these ruins also have a bell the player can sound to get the Cerulean Seed Talisman +1 and continue Count Ymir’s questline.
Where to find the Finger Ruins of Miyr and fight Metyr, Mother of Fingers
The Finger Ruins of Miyr are found under Count Ymir’s throne in the Cathedral of Manus Metyr after advancing far enough in the questline.
Speak with Count Ymir after sounding the second bell and exhaust all his dialogue by asking him about the nature of the world and Miquella. With that done, rest at the nearest Site of Grace and return to the throne room to reveal the location of the last Finger Ruins location in the Elden Ring DLC; the Finger Ruins of Miyr. Interact with the throne to reveal a secret path leading to the Finger Ruins of Miyr.
The straightforward path leads to a similar bell as the previous ruins. However, players must defeat Swordhand of Night Anna, who appears as an invader. Defeating her gives the Claws of Night, after which players can sound the Finger Ruins of Miyr bell to be transported to a boss fight with Mityr, Mother of Fingers. Defeating this boss gives the Remembrance of the Mother of Fingers and a hefty number of runes, as expected from an endgame FromSoftware boss.
