Pokemon TCG Pocket is introducing its third full set, Celestial Guardians, complete with new best cards to pull and to watch out for.
Six months after its original launch, Pokemon TCG Pocket has garnered millions of downloads and introduced hundreds of card designs to the game. One of the many appeals is collecting each and every card when they come out, from the common to the ultra rare. The latest addition to the Pokemon TCG Pocket meta is Celestian Guardians, which is centered around Gen 7. This new set welcomes players back to Alola with new ex and immersive rare cards.
Ahead of Celestial Guardians, here are the best cards players can hope to pull.
Best pull cards so far from Celestial Guardians
Pokemon TCG Pocket: Celestial Guardians’s best pull cards so far are Solgaleo ex and Lunala ex, with an overall emphasis in the set on Gen 4.
From the trailer reveal, it’s clear that both Solgaleo ex and Lunala will become powerful new additions to the TCG Pocket meta. Both have 180 HP and a special ability.
Solgaleo ex deals 120 damage with only two attached energy, though also deal ten to itself, and can also switch in from the bench to the active position for free, making for a tricky mobile attacker. Meanwhile, Lunala ex deals 180 damage and its ability allows it to move all psychic energy from the benched Pokemon to the active one.

Developers have also revealed at least one immersive rare card for Celestial Guardians – Lillie, who can heal 60 damage from any Stage 2 Pokemon. For decks that rely on three-evolution species, Lillie will be a major boon over regular potions.
Other chase cards so far include full art Alolan Marowak and full art Alolan Raichu ex, the latter of which was only found in the new expansion’s press release. Fans can hopefully look forward to Celestial Guardians also dropping full arts of other Alolan-exclusive versions of Pokemon.
Some of the best cards in Celestial Guardians are still likely to be based on basic Pokemon shared in the trailer. All three Alolan starters – Litten, Rowlet, and Popplio, will appear. In addition, Alolan Meowth and Vulpix as well as the Oricorios are all coming to the game.

In terms of supporting cards, players can expect to see a number of new items and trainers hitting the game’s meta. Most notable is the rare candy item which makes it possible to skip a Pokemon’s evolution from a basic version directly to a Stage 2 card. The other notable item is a Rotom Dex that allows the player to look at the top card of their deck and then shuffle it if desired. Trainers in Celestial Guardian include Ilima, Lana, Kiawe, Acerola, Mallow, Sophocles, and Lillie.
Pokemon TCG Pocket special event announced
Celestial Guardians has one more great card to offer through the Pokemon TCG Pocket Half-Year Celebration event.
Alongside the new set, Pokemon TCG Pocket is releasing two special events running through May. The first is a collection of new solo battles to collect Promo Pack A Series Vol. 7 boosters, featuring Rayquaza. The game is additionally dropping special missions with the ultimate goal of collecting a two-star Rayquaza. The solo battles run through May 12, while the special missions are available until the end of the month.
Both Celestial Guardians and the special mission event go live on April 30 at 2 am EST. Players who haven’t yet completed all of the solo battle missions still have time to save up their hourglasses prior to the new release.
